All Marriotts smoke-free

I just reserved a room at the Courtyard/Marriott in Sandestin, Fl. While reading thru the fine print of the reservation, I found out that all Marriotts in the US and Canada are now smoke-free!

Just wanted to pass that tidbit along for all our DIS allergy-sufferers like me.

I would just as soon they let folks smoke in thier room. I am at a Marriott. Getting out of here requires you dodge the smokers at the door. I stayed at the SAME hotel prior to the Marriott ban and NEVER dealt with smoke, now it's impossible to miss. Not an improvement IMHO!

I've been staying at Marriotts since they implimented the new rule, it's been great. No smoke smell on your pillow.

It's an ever growing trend in the hospitality industry. We stay at a couple privately run places that have been smoke free for years. They provide a pleasant smoking area about 100 feet from the building and no where near where any guests would normally go.

The Marriotts do NOT do this. They stick the ashtrays right outside the door. Most businesses make you move away from the front door, but......

I've honestly not noticed this and I have been staying at Marriotts for work a lot this past year, mostly FL ones.

we are staying in one on Saturday and when I made the reservation on-line, it mentioned the no smoking rule on several different places! I just hope that we don't have to dodge the smokers at the entrance.
