We are looking for an all-inclusive resort for our next vacation. We have 2 girls 10 and 7. Really want something right on the beach. Any suggestions on sites to use and how to get the best deal? Also, is it best to book way in advance or closer to the time you want to go?

You can search your dates and then it will show you 2-3 days before your date & 2-3 days after your date to see if you can get a better price.

They also usually have $50 - $100 off code.

I've also found last minute deals to be the best if you are flexible.

We took 2 VERY inexpensive vacations to Jamaica and Mexico last minute. Last minute = booking about 3-4 weeks in advance.

Tripadvisor is a great place to go for reviews and there is a forum to ask questions.

Dreams, Barcelo and Iberostar are all good chains to looks at for family friendly all-inclusive resorts. Palace resorts in Mexico also have quite a few options. I wouldn't hesitate to book any of these.

I have found you can usually get the best deal by going through a travel agent. They will usually match or beat any price you find on-line and if something goes wrong (cancelled flight, changed flights, etc) you have a real person who has an interest in making sure your issue is resolved instead of website.

Made that mistake 1 time, booking a trip to Mexico through Orbitz. After one leg of our flight was cancelled and trying to deal with Orbitz to get on a different flight, I will never ever go without a travel agent again.

In Mexico my kids favorites are the Beach Palace, Gran Caribe Real, Great Parnasus and we have also been to Crown Paradise, Gran Velos, Viva Wynham Maya.............

The palace resorts are excellent to rent weeks from owners there...........we also did the same for the Gran Caribe Real.
