All in the Golden Afternoon... Epcot's Flower & Garden

When I left off I mentioned a giant Hidden Mickey. Well ok, maybe it isn’t really hidden. It’s near the water on the walkway connecting Future World and the World Showcase. I bet the people on the monorail were able to snap some beautiful pictures of the mickey from up high. Now that I think of it, I probably should’ve done the same thing too! Oh well next time.

You might have noticed the group of people in the background staring at something. They had two guys making a sand sculpture for Disney’s upcoming movie ‘African Cats’ opening on Earth Day (I believe). I had seen the previews for this one a few weeks ago at the theater at DTD – let me go off topic for a few mins - if you have the time to see a movie while on vacation at Disney, you must!! They haven’t completed the ‘upgraded eat in theaters’ yet, I hear its supposed to be completed in May, but they have something similar to the Coke Cool Zone at Epcot. You get to choose what soda you want and they have like 106 combinations to select from. We had selected Coke with Orange and it was sooooo good!! This movie looks really adorable, they followed a family of lions and cheetahs. There are lots of ‘Oh how cute!’ moments. Ok – back to the TR. Check out what these guys did

So as you enter the World Showcase there is a display of everyone’s favorite hunny bear – Winnie the Pooh and Friends.

At that moment I decided I deserved a nice cool break and I was thirsty, so why not stop in the Cool Zone. Sorry folks, no Beverly photos. I tried it once and that was enough. No need to go back and try to see if I can trick my taste buds into liking it. Yuck. I really wish they would sell some of those drinks because I would love to take some of them home. Heck, I’d even send some to my family & friends.


After a few refreshing drinks it was time to get snapping some more. I found our friends Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto again. They were on a picnic – how sweet. I love Minnie’s dress in this topiary, it’s so pretty.

For some reason they didn’t include Donald and Daisy in the picnic scene. :angry: What’s up with that? Is it because they had something in the picnic basket that would offend the ducks? Donald and Daisy were off to the side of this topiary scene.

Is it me or do you think poor Donald is asking for a hug? Aw Donald if I could hug you, I would.

Guess what guys, I finally made it to the front entrance now!! Don’t worry, this TR isn’t over because I have saved the best photos for last. Greeting everyone at the main entrance of Epcot was Buzz and Woody. As you can imagine the photo pass photographers were busy taking pictures because everyone was stopping there to get their photos taken with Buzz & Woody.

I find it interesting that they made the shapes for their eyes but didn’t fill them in with flowers. I find it really odd when they do this.

Coming up – the best part of the F& G show. I promise these photos are BEAUTIFUL!

Crissy, I love ALL of the photos!!! How fun to go around and just snap all of the cute things Disney has out and the sand sculpture is AMAZING!!!

Your little cat on the table was so cute...I am sorry for all of the storms you are experinceng though! YIKES!

I am so happy you got to meet Tink and family and Lisa and Megan, that must have been cool.
We got a pretty handmade with love card today from ...YOU!!! Rachel wanted to see a picture of you, so I tried to show her and it is GONE!! Please resend it, I had copied it, emailed it to myself then saved it and it is GONE from the email...I don't know why either. I told you I am technologically challenged...and I had deleted the PM when I copied it ...so PLEASE send it again, the children want to see what you look like. They loved the card and it is hanging under my mantle on my "cardline" THANK YOU!!!!

Once again, I am LOVING my personal tour of the F&G festival!! Such lovely pics. Ugh, you're really REALLY making me want to come during that time now. I adore flowers and it's so amazing the way Disney uses them to decorate for this.

I think this one is my favorite, so adorable! And yes, Minnie's dress looks great! I love her facial expression, she looks coy and sassy.

I'm serious you should come check out Disney during the F&G. If you come when it first opens the weather is great - warm and not humid. Although don't go the first weekend it opens like I did. Apparently they added more topiaries that weren't there when I went. For example when I went to the main entrance they only had Buzz and Woody there but now they put Lotso there too.

You know I took the pictures of the hat and I had a feeling you were going to ask me to model it - sadly I didn't. But Beeker did model my new Minnie hat.

Check out my new Beeker hat, which I decided to also have model my Minnie ears. Let me say this really is a winter hat because it will definitely keep you warm. When we purchased the hat the nice woman at the register was telling us how they couldn't keep any of these hats on the shelves long enough the first month they got them in. She was confused because she knew it was warm out and couldn't think why people wanted them. Then it clicked in her head that most of the people purchasing it were not from around here so they needed to keep their heads warm when they got back home. She was so friendly with us and we chatted with her for a bit until someone was waiting to be rung up.

I love these Minnie ears. Lisa - these were the ears I was debating for Megan. After we purchased these ears I clipped off the tags and decided I was going to wear the Minnie ears for my birthday celebration day.

I realized I completely forgot to post pics of Pixie Hollow at the F&G. Silly me! Here are Tink and her fabulous fairy friends - might I add they were very friendly. Almost all of them look like they are waving at you.

Poor Vidia was way out in the distance. All of the other fairy toparies were pretty close by but hers was placed pretty far away from the path. Although the plants and flowers surronding here added to the shot so perhaps that is why she was placed so far out.

They had these cute tiny houses near each fairy. It's almost like they were trying to hide the houses because I hadn't noticed them at first. I had to back track and check out the other houses at each fairy once I realized they were there. Here are the two that I loved the most.
