With only 5 weeks to go until my holiday trip to WDW, I am bursting with excitement. :santa:  ...and nervousness  Because this is the first time I am traveling to WDW sans gluten. I become violently ill after eating even the tiniest amount of gluten, so eating out is usually way more hassle than it's worth, seriously complicating my love of travel. BUT I have heard stellar things about WDW and gluten free dietary needs, so I am pretty excited to stuff my face for a week a WDW, which is what I also liked to do at WDW pre-Celiac. That, and ride Dinosaur as many times as possible.:goodvibes

Who: my mom and I. This will be our fourth girls' trip to the World. We find that the men in our family just can't keep up with us at WDW and don't get the same sheer joy out of it that we do, so my dad and my husband are happy to stay home and take care of the dogs while Mom and I go. I am very excited for us to have a week of fun and bonding time :cloud9:

Where: Wilderness Lodge--our first ever deluxe stay. The goal for this trip is rest and relaxation, and I thought Wilderness Lodge at Christmas would be perfect for that.:tink:

When: mid December. Delta keeps changing our flight times so much that I have given up tracking our exact arrival and departure times, but we will have about 6.5 days in WDW; in hindsight, I wish I'd made the reservation for 9 or 10 nights, but it was tough to squeeze out more time with Christmas quickly approaching. :santa:

What: Deluxe Dining Plan and regular park tix (2 of the days are hopper tix from a charity auction). This is our first time doing Deluxe Dining, which we upgraded from free basic. I thought that having more table service options might ease some of my anxiety about eating gluten free on vacation. Seeing how the cost of the whole trip has added up. I probably wouldn't go all out with a deluxe resort and deluxe dining again, but we are living it up for this trip!

Why: why not?! My mom and I try to take a vacation together every few years and Disney is probably our favorite destination for these girls' trips. So many great memories to make! :wizard:

In my next post, I'll list our ADRs, which are pretty much set with some possible changes. My goal on this trip is to be a lot more flexible than in trips past. Also, I am trying to list some new things we want to try that we have missed on previous vacations, so I'll post that in an upcoming update as well.

Welcome to my gluten free food crawl planning! Hoopla!
