All I Want For Christmas Is an Okapi, a Dinosaur, a Herd of Elephants and ...

I will say prayers for all of them. May they have the strength and comfort to cope with what has happened.
I'm so sorry you have had so many losses lately.

I wish I had one of those Mickey scarves. I somehow hurt my neck a couple weeks ago and I'm still seeking treatment from my Chiropractor. Part of the routine is putting this gel on and wrapping it in a scarf...hasn't been very comfortable since it's been so warm here lately. I have been getting strange looks at work from customers for sure. It is working so I will keep doing it...but a little Mickey head on my scarf would make it more fun. ;)

I always love your morning walks at POP. Everything is so peaceful! :goodvibes
I enjoy seeing Bella along and I always like to see what toys interest her. Each child is different.
I like to be up for Early Morning Hours too.

I hope Ms Wig'd has a wonderful time this week. Where is she staying?
I bet Epcot was gorgeous with all the F&G blooms and topiary's around. :thumbsup2

I'm off to the dentist and then on to work...take care all! :flower3:

It takes a little time to recover from a Disney trip. ::yes:: I'm glad you had/have a couple of days before going back to school. For me, I don't truly let go of a trip until I can no longer say, 'This time last week, I was .........' After that, I am forced to give it up for real. :sad1:

We won't tell your mom you are already talking about another DISNEY trip. I wrote it in invisible ink. Highlight it, and you and I can see it, but we'll keep that a secret from Momsy. :rolleyes1

I can't believe how much I slept over the weekend. I fell asleep on the couch at about 11:30 Saturday night. My mom had also fallen asleep on the couch, and when she woke up at like 1:30 she woke me up and we went to bed. After that I was out cold until noon :scared1: When I was 13/14 I slept until noon every weekend and in the summer, but I very, very rarely do that now.

Thanks for keeping my secret ;)

I went back to school yesterday. My backpack felt incredibly heavy. I miss just carrying my phone, my camera, and my wallet  And walking down to the WL boat dock is much more exciting than walking from the parking lot to class :rolleyes1

We all went out to dinner on Saturday night at one of my aunt's favorite restaurants to celebrate her birthday. She died the day before her 59th birthday, so she would've been 61 on Saturday. She was a St. Patrick's Day baby :) We had a nice time. Kazin and Caleb were keeping us entertained  When Kazin walked in the door he walked right over to my grandma and said "Grandma you're so pretty!" :lovestruc While we waited for Jeremy and Caleb I entertained Kazin by showing him pictures and videos from my trip on my phone. Later on Kazin was throwing a mini hissy fit and Caleb walked over to him and told him to "chill out." I couldn't stop laughing :lmao:

Most of you have heard us mentioning our friend, Mike, who has been battling cancer for a few years. He has had several surgeries, and back in December, they told him he would live about three months. He passed away this afternoon. He leaves behind a wife, who is a teacher at the school the kids went to, and three children - two grown girls and a boy who is in high school. Mike was one of the nicest, most pleasant guys you could know. He was at peace with what was going to happen to him when he died. He only wanted to be sure his family was cared for. If you are so inclined, please keep this sweet family in your prayers in the days ahead. There will be happy tears and sad ones, and there will be laughter and smiles in memories of Mike. Pray for them to let people surround them and comfort them and do whatever is needed to help them through this difficult time. Thanks.

So sorry MeMom

So sorry to hear about all the loss you have had. Keeping you, your family, and your friends in my prayers.

I had never seen those Mickey chocolate bars! Maybe the Easter Bunny will be able to find Jeremy some for his basket while he is Disney! ;)

I would like one of those Orange Bird pins! I have a bank of orange bird from when I was little and we visited Disney World and Florida. Anxious to see how much Jeremy gets into this pin trading since he wants to start in April.

I finally got a Mickey scarf this year for Christmas. Jeremy bought it for me at Disney when we were there. It was too cute how he went shopping in Mouse Gears while I watched him from a far.

I am so sorry for the loss of Mike. I remember you saying what a great person he is. I am sure he is now among streets of gold and jewels, celebrating his new life in Heaven.

I'm also sorry for the passing of your friend at church. She is up there with Mike.

I'm so sorry you've had so much bad news this week. My thoughts and prayers will be with the friends and families of those they've lost. Such a shame...

:hug::hug::hug:

As for the losses, did I even tell you about the lady at church? I can't remember. There is a little group that sits on the back left side (if you are facing the preacher ;)), and we chat every Sunday morning and catch up on the latest with kids and grandkids. This lady was 85, but was still getting around quite well. She fell in the driveway going to the car to come to church, hit her head on the car, and it killed her. It was the most unexpected thing! This was not this past Sunday, but Sunday before last. She wasn't there, but nobody thought much about it, as she would miss occasionally if she didn't feel all that great. It was so gut-wrenching to know that as we were sitting there talking, she was experiencing such a tragic event.

:hug::hug::hug:

How tragic and sad. My thoughts and prayers go out to both families and all the people these lives touched

I will be keeping Cara & her dad and your friends' families in my thoughts and prayers. And holding my own family closer. As you've said before, you never know how long you have with someone, so make the most of it now.

Me, I stopped to smell the flowers today. Beautiful, but a little bizarre to see cherry blossoms in March here. And the forsythia just exploded overnight!

Much as I love Soarin, I'd've gone for Fab Five photos, too. And I think we've already seen a B+B+5 photo from that morning. It's in your intro to this TR, right? Soooo stinkin' cute!

Oh, and of course I'd be happy to share some of our Dollywood pics next week. I just need to figger it out on my new smarty-pants phone.

No I do not remember reading about the lady from church. That is so sad.

Yes, she was such a sweet woman. She was always dressed so pretty, but if you complimented her, she'd always say, "Oh, I've had this old thing for a hundred years!"

I am so so sorry to hear about the loss of Mike and the woman from your church. I will definitely be keeping both families, and yours of course too, in my thoughts and sending well-wishes!

Visitation for Mike starts this afternoon. They're doing it at his church, and I expect it to be full with a long line waiting to go in. Thanks for your kind thoughts.

I will say prayers for all of them. May they have the strength and comfort to cope with what has happened.

Sorry about your neck. Of course, you need a Mickey scarf!

Pop is very peaceful in the morning. Sometimes I see those mean cast members that go around putting 'You've gotta leave now' tickets on people's doors, and there are almost always cast members working around the pools, but other than that, the only activity is from the bunnies playing foosball over by the Mickey phone. :)

Wigd has been sending me pretty F&G pictures on my phone. They have helped brighten my school days. :goodvibes

So sorry MeMom

You'll just have to start dreaming about your next Disney trip when that bag can be lighter again. ::yes::

Glad you got to see your boys. :lovestruc

There really have been a lot of illnesses and deaths among school and church people this year. One of my friends at church is about to lose her dad to cancer. Her brother died of cancer last year. :sad1:

Mickey bars would be perfect for an Easter basket! :woohoo:

Orange Bird seems to be making a comeback. It'll be interesting to see what pins Jeremy chooses.

I'm sure your Mickey scarf will always be even more special, since your son picked it out for you. :)

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, Memom! Hugs!

Mike's church will definitely miss him. He was a worker. He was always in a group that was helping someone.

I am so sorry for the loss of Mike. I remember you saying what a great person he is. I am sure he is now among streets of gold and jewels, celebrating his new life in Heaven.

I know. I picture a lot of the people I know who have gone on just having a happy time all the time. :)

MeMom, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friends.

The saddest part about the timing of Mike's passing is that today is he and Julie's 25th wedding anniversary. :sad1:

I'm so sorry you've had so much bad news this week.My thoughts and prayers will be with the friends and families of those they've lost. Such a shame...

It always reminds me that life is truly just a fleeting moment in the whole scheme of things. We should make the most of the time we have here, and then we will look forward to a wonderful forever after this.

How tragic and sad. My thoughts and prayers go out to both families and all the people these lives touched

We have lost a lot of good, good people in the last few months. This world was made better by them being here. I know my life was, for sure.

I will be keeping Cara & her dad and your friends' families in my thoughts and prayers. And holding my own family closer. As you've said before, you never know how long you have with someone, so make the most of it now.

Aren't flowers so beautiful? I don't know the names of any of them, but I love to look at them! I think I would go nuts in Hawaii seeing those beautiful flowers in person.

I still want to take the girls to Dollywood. Since we have no Disney trip planned for Christmas, there might be a slight chance we could do a Dollywood weekend.

We knew we could get to Soarin' later. We had been wanting this group picture for a while. We even turned down being Family of the Day at The Seas one time to try for it. Unfortunately, we were second that time. :sad2:

Thank you all for the kind thoughts on behalf of Mike's family. We have watched the three children grow up. His wife was one of Drew's teachers in middle school. The kids have been in our summer camps. Mike and I worked together at ball games. He worked at the scoreboard table, and I ran the concession stand. I would feed him a good old concession stand hot dog any time he wanted one. He was a low-key, pleasant man. I don't think he ever gave anyone a reason not to like him. He was a big shot in his company, but he was always just a humble man. There will be a crowd coming to visit the family tonight. Adding to the sadness of the loss is that today is Mike and Julie's 25th anniversary. Instead of celebrating and going out to dinner or doing something fun, Julie has to deal with what lies ahead of her this evening. It makes me so sad for her, but I know she will be as strong as she can be for the kids.

We do not know what our future holds. We may get 75 anniversaries, or like the young man who was killed in the huge accident here last year, we may not get even one. We don't know what time we have here on earth, so let's make each moment a good one, if we can. Let's all go out and make the world around us a nicer place for today. :goodvibes Have a good one, DIStown!

I'm so sorry for your losses, MeMom. You're so right - life is too fleeting to waste it.

Memom ,I am truly sorry that you are having to experience more sad losses in your life. Wether they are unexpected, or something you were expecting, it is still a sad loss of people that were part of your life. My thoughts are with you all as you get through this.

Sorry about the loses of friends and family this year. My thoughts and prayers are with you and their families. Times like these make me remember to count God's blessings in my life each day.

I made ADR for my Sept. trip today. :cool1:

Thanks, all. Also keep our DIStown girl, Cara - Momof2TNboys - in your thoughts and prayers, as well. Her dad has been sick for a while, and it seems he has taken a downturn. We will keep you posted as we know anything with him.

Oh Cara-:hug: Hugs for your whole family.

Prayers and hugs to Cara and family!
It seems to be everywhere.

My parents lost a dear friend of theirs today. I'd known him since I was 10 years old - so sad.

With whatever time we have, we can do much good if we try. :)

It is sad, but Mike has gone on to better things. The family was doing very well tonight. Tomorrow will be hard, of course.

Enjoying your TR The picture of the kids at Toy Story Mania are so adorable!!!

Keep it coming

I plan to put up pictures in a few minutes, if all goes well.

Glad you are enjoying it!

Yay for a new ADR. What was it for?

I start every day telling God thank you for all of the people and things I have in my life. :thumbsup2

Oh Cara-:hug: Hugs for your whole family.

I heard from her this morning. They are in WDW. She said she felt bad leaving, but I told her her dad would want her to be having fun and to be able to get away from stresses for a while. She said that is just what her mother said. ;)

Prayers and hugs to Cara and family!

Sending good thoughts to your parents on the loss of their friend. They will treasure the memories of good times shared together. :)

The boys and I went to the visitation tonight. Julie gave Drew a huge hug, as she has not seen him in a long time. She was doing well, as were the kids. We had to wait about 1 1/2 hours from entrance to the family, and when we left, the line was back to the same place it was when we arrived. I told you Mike had lots of friends. :goodvibes It was good to see all the happy pictures of him in his good health. :) Thank you for all of the good thoughts for this family.

Back to Epcot:

Mickey met us at the front door and walked the girls in.

Now individual pictures.

Pluto got no love from Bella.

Don't press your luck, Donald. She's not coming any closer.

Goofy was trying to get the girls to laugh.

IMG_7019.jpg

Goofy wasn't getting any Bellattention, either. It just wasn't a good day for the dogs. :sad2:

So that was the blurry version of our Fab Five excitement. We were glad to get those pictures. I knew the Photopass people were getting good ones, so I tried to get pictures of some of the side view action, like Jill taking pictures of the girls, Goofy being goofy, etc.

Pretty flowers.

IMG_7025.jpg

Wigd has been sending me F&G pictures this week. They have been so pretty! Disney does flowers well, no matter what the season.

While I was taking that picture, a CM asked me if I was lost. I wondered if I looked lost. :confused3 I told her no, and she said it was her job to help lost people. I guess she wondered why I was just meandering and not stampeding to Soarin' or something.

I'm so sorry for your loss of Mike and your friend at church. I know people pass all the time, but it just seems like this year has been a real hard one. Maybe because of all the losses I've seen to so many close friends and family. I hope lots of babies are being born to make up for all the losses.

I loved watching the procession of pictures with the characters. Bella has really come a long way, but she still has her reservations. It's great to see he posing with Brooklynn.

Great pictures with the Fab 5!!:thumbsup2 Bella is so cute running away from the dogs.

Beautiful Epcot flowers. 28 days & I will see them. Anita sent me a pic at DHS yesterday.:goodvibes
