All I Want For Christmas Is an Okapi, a Dinosaur, a Herd of Elephants and ...

Congrats Jill, John, Brooklynn, Bella, and Memom! :dance3:

Sending my wishes for an easy pregnancy and healthy baby as well. :flower3:

We will be there over your spring break trip too! Right now we are at Boardwalk hoping for a switch to BC. If we end up at Boardwalk that's fine too!
Congratulations!!! That is so exciting. I am sure Memom is overjoyed!
Love the updates so far. I have been MIA for awhile. Life is getting in the way of my Dis time. I really enjoyed meeting everyone at the JC meet. I wanted to come for NYE, but I was thwarted by a CM. We decided to go through Epcot to hit the monorail. We went up to the platform and they had it shut down. She told us MK was closed and no guests allowed. I asked if we could go to the Poly and she said they are checking room keys there. So, I tried to text, but with the madness of NYE, I did not get it to go through I guess. I am glad you had a great time. I really do not think I have ever been around that many people. We hung out at Epcot for awhile and then headed back to the room. We saw the fireworks from our room at BC.
I have flip flopped my trips so much my head hurts. My final trips are AKV 3/17-3/24 and BLT/BC 6/28-7/8. We decided to not venture far because of my Dad. We had planned on a cruise and then I looked at Hawaii, and then I looked at the Caribbean, but we decided to keep these two Disney trips and go to Hilton Head for a week in June. We love it there and I can get home quickly if needed.
Hope you feel better soon, Memom.

It takes having a baby to get some of you guys to come out and join the conversation??? :faint:  Well, if that's what it takes, I am glad Jill was up for it. We enjoy hearing from everyone! :yay:

Yes, I am 'over the moon' about a new addition, of course. I'm never going to get any grandbabies from my two clunky boys, :headache: so Jill is the only chance I have. She has to have nine, of course, since I assumed each of my three would have three. :rolleyes1

No, the hacker was still not right. This baby is an Alabama baby. He was already along for the ride. :goodvibes I flipped a coin today to see what 'it' was going to be. I flipped two tails and then a heads, so I'm guessing it's a boy. I'm fine with either. I'd like Jill to have the privilege of parenting both sexes, because it is a different experience, but I'm totally in for a lot more years of Disney girls' trips, too! :dance3: My prayers are only for her to have an uncomplicated pregnancy and for the baby to be healthy, naturally.

I've been looking at baby names, and even though the coin flip said boy, I have only looked at girl names. I like Erin, Shelby, Kerry, Paige, Leah, Natalie, and some others. Natalie means Christmas baby, so that would be appropriate. :santa: I don't get a vote, of course, but I like those. Erin was a choice for me with one of my kids, but I don't remember which. Boys names - I will have to do some research. Again, I don't get a vote, but it's still fun to look. Jill has said one girl's name she likes, but she hasn't said anything about boys, other than being nice and putting some form of John (probably Jonathan) to keep peace on that side of the family. John's dad and granddad and maybe even one more generation have a form of John in their names. It might not be her first choice, but she's kind enough to take one for the team and carry it on to make them feel honored. If Bella had been a boy, I think they were planning to go with Jonathan Garrett and call him Garrett. We'll see what boys' names float to the top this time.

That fountain does seem to work magic :wizard:, but we are still seeking its powers for a few of our DIS family who want to add to their families. We know the fountain has nothing to do with it, but it's fun to play the game and kid about it. Not being able to have a baby when you want to is not fun. I know that, because I was having issues my last time around, which is how I ended up with good old Drew-boy. Families grow in different ways. Some people choose to let what they have be it, some people pursue many means of conceiving, and some people choose adoption. Everyone does what is right for them, and adoption was right in our case. To all of you who are hoping and praying to add to your family, you certainly have my fervent prayers that that will happen for you in some way. One of our sweet cousins is going through the homestudy process of adoption now, and she is incredibly excited. I pray for her and her husband daily, knowing that they will be wonderful parents.

I got a nice message this morning from my friend, Mike, who I have told you all about before. In December, they told him he would live about three months. He is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He knows his time is short, but he says he feels very good about how things are going to play out. He has a deep faith in God's promises, and he is ready to face whatever tomorrow brings. We knew about his cancer long before we knew anything about Joan's, yet hers went way faster than his. Keep him in your thoghts and prayers, if you will, as he does face an end soon. I don't know what it would be like to know that or what thoughts one might think, but I can't imagine that I wouldn't be asking for the prayers of everyone I knew, if it were me.

As for my hacking cough and yuck, I keep thinking one more day will do it. Not quite yet, but still less than yesterday. I dread coughing because my ribs hurt so badly, but how do you stop a cough? I'm going to go with two more nights this time, and in two more nights, I really truly think it'll all be gone. :woohoo:

Thanks for all of the wonderful thoughts and congratulations for Jill. We do treasure our DIS friends, and we hope you all feel that very sincerely.

Memom- you are so right about adoption. It is the best thing that ever happened to us, although it is definitely not for everyone. Keeping your cousin in my thoughts. I know what a nerve racking but exciting process it is. Just tell them to remember how incredible the outcome is :).

Glad you are feeling a little better. Maybe try taking some honey- don't know if it really helps but it can't hurt.

Will definitely be keeping your friend Mike in my thoughts and prayers.

Again, hope you feel better.

I will definitely be sending good thoughts yours and Mike's way.

Oh painful coughs are so not fun. Hopefully there's something you can take to help clear that out!

Yah! Another little one for my favorite Disney fam! I'm so excited for your family! Congrats Jill!!!!

Thanks, Pat! It is good to be back. It was great meeting you and I hope we cross paths in July! I am sure Memom told you our trip was not what I planned. We spent a lot of time in our room because Blake was sick.

Anita-that's great! What are your dates? We are splurging on a One bedroom. We have booked studios so far, but with all my vacation flipping, I finally decided to just splurge.
My prayers are with your friend. I lost a former coworker to lung cancer and he was in his 40s. Jason's fellow classmate from high school just died from ovarian cancer. Cancer stinks and I wish for a cure.

We are acyually hoping for another girl. We already have all the stuff and it was just make room arrangements so much easier.

So far it has been just like the other two feel no different. The only difference is I am already sporting a pretty decent size bump so all the maternity clothes have already come out of their boxes and I'm only seven weeks.

I don't blame you Jill!! I kept everything I had of Hollie's and I am so glad I did. Because it is so nice to see Hannah wearing some of Hollie's clothes that I missed and were just oh so cute!!! I went through another container just the other day and found lots and lots of her Disney t-shirts and cute outfits :goodvibes

We arrive on Sunday the 18th and fly home Friday the 23rd. You are going to adore that 1br. We have one too and it's just Marc and I this trip! The space is marvelous!

A big congrats to Jill and the entire family!!!! What a blessing. I was also due Sep 11 and had a Sep 1 baby!!! I hope ms Jill has a very smooth pg and a healthy and happy little one.

MeMom I appreciate your words on the struggle for a family. We tried for a very long time and had many ups and down. I really believe God gives you the children you are meant to have. Many of us here are very blessed. I am praying for your friend and hope you feel better soon.

Congratulations, Jill & John! And MeMom, Brooklyn & Bella, of course. You have my prayers for an easy, happy pregnancy and a healthy, happy baby. :cloud9:
If the baby is a "John," Jill might like to call him Jack. That way, she honors John's family with the name, but he'll have his unique nickname. Plus, it's an awesome pirate name.
Glad you're feeling a little better, MeMom. It stinks to still feel puny, but each tomorrow will get better. Oh, and thanks for reminding me of my sweet, sweet Aunt Donna from Nashville, who always specially coddled us when someone was feeling "puny."
Keeping Aunt Joan and your friend Mike in my prayers, too.

I slept better last night. The coughing is definitely getting better - thank heavens! Fewer and fewer 'spells'. :thumbsup2

After four miscarriages, Michelle and Jeffrey can now see that there will be a positive outcome to all of their heartache. :lovestruc

Oh painful coughs are so not fun. Hopefully there's something you can take to help clear that out!

I've been taking Dayquil and Nyquil (generic kind). I feel a little better every day, but still kind of lethargic and hitting the bed pretty much as much as I can.

Mike has such a good attitude about things. He worries about his kids, as anyone would. He knows they will have a strong support system to help them carry on.

Yah! Another little one for my favorite Disney fam! I'm so excited for your family! Congrats Jill!!!!

She's a good girl filling my request for three, isn't she? :goodvibes
Has anyone told her yet she has to have six more? ;)

I hate that Blake was sick on the trip. I know I would not like feeling like I have felt the last few days when I had WDW right outside my door. I wouldn't even be able to enjoy it.

Maybe some really smart person will come up with that cure or figure out the prevention of it in the first place. :thumbsup2 So sorry about you guys losing friends. It sure is a disease that has taken a stronghold in our society.

Congratulations on your splurge! I hope you and Anita can cross paths on this trip.

Bella has worn only a very few of Brooklynn's things due to the seasons they were born and the size differences. Having another girl would make it easier for handing down some things, though, and for rooming purposes. In a short time, Brooklynn would have her own room and the littler girls could share.

P.S. I have thought of a boy's name I like. I like Reid or Reed. I think I like it spelled Reid better.

WAHOOOOOOO!!! Another baby to watch grow and discover Disney! How exciting!:banana::banana::banana::banana:

Only this one won't get nearly as many trips. Silly little Bella has to start paying as of the summer trip, since she'll be three. This one will set a record for being the youngest to go, but will also kick Disney trips into a more realistic number - like once or possibly twice a year, I'm guessing.

We arrive on Sunday the 18th and fly home Friday the 23rd. You are going to adore that 1br. We have one too and it's just Marc and I this trip! The space is marvelous!

Yet you keep trying to fill that space with guests. ;)
See, if I had taken you up on your offer, you would be crammed into your one room and have snorers from all sides!

I'm hoping for early in September, since we have an October 5th trip planned for Jill's birthday. She has bounced back very well from the other two, but an extra week to be ready to do some walking in WDW would be nice for her. It'll be a different style of trip, with lots of relaxing and being there for atmosphere. Disney in October is wonderful, so just being there will be awesome!

You don't have to look far to find many families who really have to work hard to have children. What a blessing they are when they finally do get here!!! :lovestruc

Is 'puny' a Tennessee hillbilly word? It probably is!

Jill has said if this is a boy she might do a Mickey Pirate room using the playset she saw in WDW as a base for her theme. pirate:

Thanks for the good thoughts for Joan's family and for Mike's. Joan's family is still processing things, since everything happened so very quickly. Mike's has had a lot more time to prepare. He's been going through this for several years. Both were/are big losses to this world, because they were/are fine, fine people.

Anita- I am so excited about our one bedroom. It will be great to have space with two little boys. I hope we can cross paths on the trip. We are doing a Disney trip, but also going offsite for shopping and we are planning on attending the golf tournament at Bay Hill. Jason loves golf and Cooper is beginning to love it too. He wants to see the professionals and they will probably play golf one day also. We are driving so transportation will not be an issue.
Memom-I am glad you are feeling better. Get as much rest as you can. It did stink that Blake was not 100%. We plan on redeeming ourselves this next trip.
I am so excited for you all. If it is a boy, I have plenty of ideas for you!! I would not know what to do with a girl.:rotfl2:

More news about the Opryland/Dollywood proposed park.

http://www.tennessean.com/article/20120122/NEWS01/301220041/Opryland-area-water-and-snow-parks-won-t-occupy-the-same-space

Funny how they mentioned Camelback in the Poconos. I have been there and yes they do run a waterpark and ski resort too.

Interesting. I don't live there any more but my entire family does, so I visit often. I think I speak for lots of people in that area when I say that I wish they'd just bring in a theme park similar to what Opryland was. I don't enjoy walking around in my wet bathing suit all day at a water park (love to swim but I don't know - that's just not my idea of fun). I've never skiied so I have no clue how I'd feel about that. I'm just baffled that they are doing seasonal stuff. There will be gaps (spring/fall) when neither park is open, meaning that they're sitting there empty, losing money. Nashville has the kind of weather where a theme park could operate in early spring and well into the fall, and maybe open for limited hours for the holidays. Don't get me wrong - I'm happy they're bringing some sort of theme park back to that area. I just don't get why the two extremes. :confused3 I'd love to be able to take Seth to an Opryland-ish park when we go home to visit. Not sure how these will pan out....I guess we'll see!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

I'm so happy for you all!

:yay:

Thank you, ma'am.

(I'll field all the congrats while Jill does all the work. ;))

Jill is used to being around all shapes, sizes, sexes, and behaviors of kids, and she has been all of her life, so I think she'll do a good job with whatever comes her way. I think she should have boy/girl twins - a boy so she can have a son and a girl just because the more the merrier! :jumping1:

I thought my cough was going away, but it is making a comeback today, for some reason. Maybe I am slacking a little on the Dayquil.

Disney is going to allow facial hair...
http://www.wesh.com/r/30278416/detail.html

I am at lunch, but I will read both articles later. Facial hair for Disney employees is certainly big news.

You are right, Dawn. Everyone I have ever heard talk about it just wants an Opryland back. ::yes::

Congratulations on the upcoming addition! That's always so exciting. We're waiting for the next addition to our family in February. That'll make three grandbabies for my mom, which makes her very happy. I just can't wait to be able to take them to WDW, spoil them, and send them back. :lmao:

I was chuckling at your name suggestions (are you going to help with the next 6 too? ;) ) - we had considered Erin for DD8, but settled on Paige 2 days after she was born! She just didn't seem like an Erin! I love the name Paige - it's not super common, but not super unusual either.

I'll keep your friend Mike in my prayers! And pray that you are better soon too!
