All I Want For Christmas Is an Okapi, a Dinosaur, a Herd of Elephants and ...

I can't believe that Mingo still hasn't been found. I bet he is having a good ol' time. Maybe he has taken up residence on the safari at the Animal Kingdom.

Another bragging moment:

Ethan came in 3rd place at the county wide Regional Science Fair. I am so proud of him.

Wow!! Leave for a couple of days and there are so many updates. Just got back from NY-so nice to be home :).

I am so sorry about Bella's mingo-you feel so bad for the little ones when they are sad or disappointed :(.

Great parade pics and looks like another great DIS meet!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Oh no! Poor girl lost her mingo! :worried:

Fun parade pics. I did enjoy MSEP, but also missed Spectro at the same time. I was having mixed emotions.

I miss Spectro. I was glad to see MSEP again for old times' sake, but I am more than ready for Spectro to come back. Rumor has it that it will be back in the fall.

Poor Bella and her Mingo. I hope disney magic will bring mingo back to Bella!!

Until then, we are certainly having fun 'mingoing' DIS friends by phone whenever we see mingos out in stores.

I will plan on making the purchase of a plush mingo friend this summer to go with that thought. :thumbsup2

Great job, Ethan! (At first, I thought the bag said Beer. I was wondering what in the world you were letting that boy do!

Have a great weekend everyone!

We only have a few weeks to finish, so I am trying to cruise through. As soon as Jill gets the nect set loaded, we'll be on our way to the last day of 2011.

We felt badly for Bella and for the gift-givers.

There are going to be a bunch of DIS meets this summer. We are going to make it to 2-3 of them. It's always fun to put names to faces in meeting 'new' friends, and its a pleasure to see old friends again. :)

Awww I'm sorry to hear that Mingo decided to live at the MK! Too bad he was dropped at such a difficult place to search for him! :sad1:

I hate to hear about Bella's mingo getting lost at MK. My mom, who is also a lover of mingoes, lost her visor right off her head on Goofy's Barnstormer several years ago - never to be seen again. She'd at least had it for almost one full day before it was missing.

Your pictures have confused me, I don't have the Jingle Jungle parade in our November plans. I thought I was okay with that, but now I'm not so sure!

I know you are going to enjoy seeing us, as in "OLD" friends again, just as we are going to enjoy seeing you too!!!

So sad about Bella's mingo!

I like the parade pictures. We didn't catch MSEP in January. Spectro is my mom's and my absolute favorite parade and we were really sad that it wasn't there in January. I am more than ready to see it again...it would be amazing if it did come back in the fall!

Yeah, probably the worst spot in all of Magic Kingdom to lose something!
Her fondness for mingos grows, though. She pretty much thinks the ones at the Nashville Zoo (or anywhere else, for that matter) belong to her. :)

I bet a lot of people lose brand new hats and other items in WDW. It would be interesting to go through the Lost & Found boxes.

If you have an extra 20 minutes to spare, the parade is cute. :thumbsup2

We need to write down all the DIS meet plans. I think someone is leaving the day we arrive and someone is arriving the day we leave, but I don't remember who. I know we have the POR meet on the 27th, Stormalong Bay time on the...28th(?), and 'Ohana on the 3rd.

Anyone else who we are saying hello to, please chime in on the day and the approximate time of day - just morning, afternoon, or night. We can text closer to time for details.

I love hearing the first sounds of Spectro. :) It's so exciting, and watching it is the perfect way to end a Magic Kingdom day.

December 31, 2011

Good morning, Magic Kingdom!

IMG_8081.jpg

Can you think of a better way to spend the last day of a year than to be in Disney World?

IMG_8082.jpg

Except I think all of these people should still be in their beds asleep.

IMG_8088.jpg

At least you can still find a few empty places, even with all those people.

Time for a ride on Dumbo.

Next trip, we will be experiencing the new Dumbo, which from all the pictures and videos I have seen, will be even cooler in the evening.

Next, on to Neverland.

From Peter Pan, we came out and went back to the right again.

This is a hit with little ones, but I kind of want some extra large tubs of Clorox Wipes sitting around there, too.

And that's all for now. :tigger:

Thank you for the parades (I am a couple of days behind...) and also for the fantasyland morning visit!

Have a great last week of school! (This is your last week, right?) :upsidedow

Oh man, nothing like a morning at the Magic Kingdom! How awesome that yall were there for NYE!

I totally understand what you mean about the honey walls... but I can't resist them! They're too fun! :rotfl:

I agree Clorox Wipes would be a good addition to the Pooh queue. :thumbsup2Interactive queues are so cool, as long as you dont think about everyone else who has touched it.

Holy schmolies, you were at MK early. I was still asleep in my bed at the Poly at that time. Or by the looks of it, we may have just got settled in our room because our flight was so late. :rotfl:

I am sorry about the froggie. I am thinking that he made it safely to the side of the road!! Love the Jammin Jingle parade. Looks like a fun am in the MK. We are in for the meets on the 27th and 28th, I will pm you my cell number :)

Wow, it's so weird to look at those Fantasyland pictures and know I was there just a few days after you guys were.

I love the Winnie the Pooh ride. Kailyn, however, did not like it at ALL! I think it was the Heffalump part...she also really hated Snow White, said it really WAS scary and wasn't sad when my mom and I told her it was going to be gone eventually. :rotfl:

We have this week and next week, and then we're officially finished. Of course, the first week in June, I have to go to workshops three days, so the first vacation week is more a work week.

Glad you enjoyed the parades. :)

Congratulations to your girls for making the soccer team they wanted to be a part of! :woohoo:

It was fun to end an old year and begin a new one in Disney World. :cool1:

Working with little ones on a daily basis, we see where those fingers go all day long. I always have a little pack of wipes with me, and Jill has her Germ-X. :thumbsup2

Interactive queues are cool, no doubt. The girls enjoy them, and we enjoy watching them have fun with them.

Yes, we did have some early days on this trip, but it worked out very nicely. We were able to do several things each of those days with no crowd, and then we had plenty of time for good naps in the afternoons when the parks were so, so, so crowded.

The thought of being asleep in a Poly bed sounds good to me this morning. To walk out the door and sit on the beach on Mother's Day brings back wonderful memories of our Mother's Day trip a couple of years ago. We didn't stay at Poly, but we had breakfast at Kona and then sat on the beach in the swing. It was when Trent was living in Florida, so it was special that we were getting to spend time with him. It was special because Jill had surprised me and treated me to staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Other than the tears when we had to part with Trent, it was a beautiful Mother's Day. I am thinking of all the lucky moms who are celebrating their day in WDW today.

That's the ones we're on for, too, and then Brooklynn and I will be at the 'Ohana dinner on the 3rd. We are looking forward to seeing you!

Snow White is not my favorite. I am not scared of it, but it just seems a little boring to me. I am looking forward to the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, though!

Yep, you were probably doing some of your packing while we were there that day. :)

I just wanted to log in and wish all the DIS moms a Happy Mother's Day:flower3:

I second that! ::yes::

To all of the wonderful women of DIStown - moms, grandmoms, great grandmoms, and moms to be, and to those who will not be moms but who will have powerful influence on the lives of many in other ways- we celebrate all of our good women and girls on this special day. Have a great time making memories with the ones you love today!
