All Fridges To Be Removed From Resort Hotels!

We are staying (2 families) at the AoA in August so I just called the resort.

My family is staying in a Nemo suite, and the other family in a Little Mermaid room.

I've read that the Suites are OK, but nothing concerning the Little Mermaid rooms so I wanted to double check

CM Delilah said that there are NO issues with the refrigerators at the Art of Animation. I asked her to confirm that the LM rooms are OK and she said they were.

So either those are non-recall units since the resort is so new, or they replaced them quickly..again perhaps because the resort is so new with high demand.

Just wanted to toss out what I heard...

We are here and our fridge does not work, it has a note on it about them having problems and all needing to be replaced. Just thought I'd let you know

This has been a necessary measure taken by Disney for your safety, some models were unsafe and apparently one caught fire so rather than think about the inconvenience of it all be thankful that they are being responsible for guest safety. They will replace them as soon as they can and not all models are affected, please be practical the numbers of units involved will take time to be sourced and fitted into the resort rooms. It's not just WDW that' affected but DLR in California too.

Oh no, this is not good news.

I'm just crossing my fingers that they will have them sorted by Septmeber as we will be there 3rd - 17th September. I was hoping to take some cereal for breakfast and use the fridge for milk

That's exciting as we are due to stay at LM AoA in 5 weeks and was hping for a fridge. Sounds like they might nearly be done with the switching them over.

Guess just got lucky in July.

they have a few rooms with fridges that are given for medical needs and babies..

everyone else is entitled to access to the big fridges that i believe are in the baggage area of the resort...
but it's so far away, i doubt anyone would actually take them up on that option, but maybe..

i witnessed a LOT Of angry guests at the front desk complaining about the fridge situation!!

we ended up getting a fridge during our first visit when they had to move us out of our room due to a broken water pipe in the wall....
the second room they gave us had a fridge (both the broken fridge and the working fridge were in the room)..

on our second visit to pop (after our cruise), neither of the two rooms had a working fridge..
when i asked about it, they said they have some but they try to save them for medical needs and babies..

Andre from portorleans.org has reported that POFQ is now approximately 90% complete. I saw a pic of one of the new fridges (somewhere) but have had way too many tabs open this evening and can't remember where
