All FP machines to be removed from Animal Kingdom by next week and....

2 hours now of 5 min waits, hope folks kept their FP+ ressies for a different park later today/tonight.

Yes, wait times at AK according to MDE at this time are minimal at best. Headliners..Safari 10 min and EE 15. That is really good!

Hopefully others will let us know if the crowd level is minimal or if it is minimal because of securing fp at the kiosk. Honestly, MDE pulled right up with no error messages on the Wait Times.

See, I would think that 60degrees would be a great time to go on the Safari. Aren't the animals generally more active when its not so hot?

So I declare my theory PROVEN! :thumbsup2

No, I think it just a really slow day... ;)

I also wonder how accurate a "test" this is when I am sure they have tons of CMs to assist people to a kiosk or with the Ipads. They cant keep having this volume of staff at the gates each day, and each day they get new visitors that have to be educated.

At some point it might be necessary to start tracking FP+ wait times.

I do too. I think this weekend, when the crowds start rolling in for Christmas week will be the true test at AK.

If its not a one day test and continues on, I think we will get a more fair assessment of things then.

Yesterday, around 9 AM, it was 12 degrees at my house.

I'm JONESING for 60 degree mornings (and would be perfectly happy with 55), and hoping we get a couple during our trip in about 3 weeks....

Twelve whole degrees! It was five degrees here.

Sixty (or fifty) would feel so warm and is perfect zoo weather.

I'm thinking Disney picked the right day to start the test. Maybe there weren't many FP+ reservations, at least for morning, and EMH means off-site guests who do any research would likely avoid AK today.

I hope so. I really want a high crowd level/low ride capacity test. I want to know what this will look like at the worst possible times. :goodvibes

Even on site guests have a tendency to avoid EMH days. Best days always say which parks to avoid and EMH parks are usually the ones.

So even the planners staying onsite may or may not go to AK today. They may choose to wait until this afternoon, when the morning EMH'ers have gone home.

It makes sense to pick an EMH day for the offsite test. There's the chance that a portion of the offsiters will avoid the park because it's the EMH park. Makes the test a little easier to administer.

Also, Mickey Updates just tweeted that one CM told him that AK is FP+-only for good, another CM told him it's a four-day test. Left hand, meet right hand. :confused3

Saw that too. From all the reports I've heard most say for now it's just a multiple day test but could turn into for good if all goes well.

We are onsiters and we try to avoid EMH parks if we can.

Plus you have anyone who read about this test prior, here or on other sites, who said no way are we going to AK today. I know that is a small percentage but it probably did turn some people off from going there.

I know if we were there and I read about this test prior I would have avoided it.

So, either:

(a) Everyone is now queuing to get FastPasses rather than going on the rides, or
(b) No one can get FastPasses anyway, so the Standby line is now massively shorter as there are no FP people pushing in ahead of the standby line,

... or ...

(c) Disney artificially increased wait times over the last few days so they can claim today has been a success.

You could put together an app that would crowdsource it.....Sort of like some of the apps crowdsource actual wait times.

I'm surprised "Lines" doesn't do it already, they already have a timer for actual wait times in the Standby line.

or

(d) it's one of the least busy days of the year....

I noted that (just as Robo and others predicted): no FP return times listed on MDE app for AK.
