All FP machines to be removed from Animal Kingdom by next week and....

This is what I don't understand. It's going to be the biggest mess ever. :confused3

Part of the reason behind FP+ is to give people more time to spend more money.

Testing that during the busiest time of the year could be intentional to maximize results.

Hey!

They are putting the "Help Center" is a STORE that is still open for business.

Family's got nuthin' to do while you're in a line of 463 guests trying to get FP+ straightened out…

Why not S H O P!?!

And what do the guests get for this grand experiment? Oh wait, they get to pay for it!!!:sad2:

Not just do we get to pay for it, but remember Disney raised prices across the board this year...hotels, tickets, meals....so we are paying more than we ever have before to fund our ability to stand in lines in hopes of using the new systems or to "fix" the glitches that crop up..it is a only a *test* after all! :rotfl2:

Hey, had a thought...is "I was standing in line with GS to fix the mess that is FP+" a valid reason to miss your ADR and will they waive the no-show charge or is a guest expected to anticipate how long the overwhelmed CMs are going to take and plan their system failures appropriately?

Does anyone else think that what's coming as a full rollout at AK on the 18th is actually what we're going to be left with and what Disney has planned all along?

No advanced booking of FP+ for non-AP off site guests. No KTTW cards to non-AP value resort guests.

Basically perks depending on how much money you're giving Disney. Makes sense re why they haven't "tested" anything else like no KTTW for mods and deluxe, etc.

Just my opinion, which means absolutely nothing, but I think the testing is over.

If all of the FP machines are gone, what value does a KTTW card have?

We discussed this a little earlier. Giving me "more time" in the parks does not translate to me hitting the stores. It translates into me hitting more rides. :santa:

I refuse. :rotfl:

The regular FP machines are likely not going to be physically taken out (just yet) but,
they will be covered and unavailable… which offers the same results as your question.

KTTW cards are of no value for "regular FP" at DAK starting Wed. and running through… who knows?

Well gee, I can't wait to let you guys know how our Friday goes. Hoping for the best but planning for some craziness.

Maybe with a card you have the same benefits as other offsite day of guests as well as your other advanced FP+.

I'm still a little unclear about how that's going to work on the 18th at AK. If someone walks up to a kiosk with a KTTW card are they going to be able to schedule day of fastpasses on the 18th? Without having to drop ones already scheduled?

Great, Wednesday was supposed to be our AK day. No way I want to play guinea pig in that mess. Looks like we're going tomorrow before MVMCP instead.

RP - you absolutely nailed our feelings on this issue. People who have different outlooks on this seem to think that those of us who think that Disney has handled this so poorly seem to think that we are somehow anti-Disney. That is not the case.

Just very disappointed that a company that set so many high bars for so long could now think of nothing but how to get us locked in on OUR vacations to the point that we are scheduling rides 60 days in advance.

Of course you are not anti-Disney, anymore than those that like it are lazy, senile or uninformed.

There's been no indication that onsite guests will get any more than their three advanced-scheduled FP+. The test at AK will be to add the offsite guests to the system using their RFID tickets and same-day FP+ reservations.

Onsite guests will not be able to double dip if the legacy FP machines are covered.

That's the idea.

This makes sense to me as they would be rewarding their most loyal guests who are willing to stay onsite and their guests who are paying more - DVC, Moderate & Deluxe resorts.

This gives incentives to spend more money to get more/better FPs just like universal. Absolutely fair from a business point of view.

I'm just guessing that the ones who have KTTW cards will be able to use them as a stand alone FP+ tool just like offsite. This would lower the perk for value resort guests who aren't AP holders.

This has already been "tested" and accepted by the value resort crowd by allowing AP holders to pull additional FPs separate from their bands.

JMO but I don't think there will be any adding of benefits for lower paying guests at this point. The incentives are there. Buy APs. Stay onsite. Stay in a mod or deluxe resort to have a better plan. It all makes sense to me. It's about money. They want to fill resort rooms and APs and lock everyone in.

The "indication" is that this is what has already been happening.

I've decided to wait until all this FP+ mess has settled down and they open the Wild Mine Ride. See you guys in 2015.

Yes I was wondering this as well. Also, if you are experiencing any problems or glitches that require you to miss an ADR or FP+ that cannot be rescheduled for a later time...either no availability or it conflicts with yet ANOTHER ADR? What have folks' experiences been when this happens?

I was planning on going over on Saturday to catch one of the Lion King shows. I may need to re-consider this or just go over and get a box of popcorn and watch the craziness that is happening near any of the distribution centers.
