Just looking back. I was in sixth form college. Height of productivity. I was doing well with my studies, I was captain of the shooting team, showing promise on the music front… but my extra-curricular activities took a massive hit. Why? All for a girl. She was my first girlfriend. I neglected my music, my shooting, all to be on her whim and call. And sadly, she put me through an emotional roller-coaster.

Love is important, but don't trash your life over it. If it's meant to be, it will be.

Yes, neither person should have to give up everything for the other. A good relationship requires work and compromise on both sides. But it’s one of those things that most of us have to learn by going through a bad relationship or two when we’re young.
