Why? Does this mean you can't refrigerate leftovers from restaurants? Do they check the fridge and confiscate? Is this in every hotel/resort? help?

Likewise does this mean you can't buy cookies, chips, donuts whatever and keep them in your room:scared1:

I have never herd of that and always have snacks in the room for everyone that are open. Is this something new???

This is where I found it: Pop Century GROOVY FAQ thread on these boards;

Q: Will Pop Century have Bell Services?
Upon arrival, Pop Century will offer Luggage Assistance for our guests. Not to be confused with "Bell Services" found at Deluxe resorts, Luggage Assistance will take your luggage, and store it while you enter the lobby and check in. Your luggage will then be automatically delivered to your room within an hour of it becoming available. You do not need to be in the room for luggage to be delivered, so you can go off and play in the parks. When you get back, your luggage will already be there. They will have refrigerators for food and medical usage. (All food *MUST* be factory sealed) They will also have a locked area for valuables such as laptops, cameras, and other electronics.

ga-zoinks?! True or not true?

That sounds to me like you cant have leftovers (doggie bags) in the luggage area. I would also agree probably due to animals. In your room is another story I would think. At the villas you have a kitchen so they couldnt throw your food away there. It is funny that I have never seen that before though. Something must have happened.

Gee, we always use the fridge when we go and we've never had everything stay factory sealed, we had boxes of food and cans with pop tops and lots of open stuff in the fridge too. We bought pizza and put the leftovers in there too. I've never heard of that......:confused3

They are not talking about the fridge in your room, it's the one in the baggage storage area. If you get to the resort before your room is ready and want them to hold your groceries. I would also thing that they would want factory sealed containers for liability reasons. No one can come back and say that someone put something into their food.

I agree. I think it means when you do an early check in at the resort and leave your luggage with with luggage or bell sevices you cannot leave opened packages of food in that area. Such as a half eaten bag of chips or cookies you ate on the way to the resort.

I would not think this would apply to your resort room.

Something must have happened to change the rule because last September we had half my DD's birthday cake left over and we left it with our luggage the day we checked out. They had no problem putting it in a refrigerator for us. Hmmm, wonder what it was?

I'm thinking they mean in the luggage holding area. There is no regulation against having food in your room.

i would think that the transporting of opened boxes or containers of anything food that isnt factory sealed could be very messy to transport even if they are in ziplocs or other disposable containers. the risk of spillage would be high and the storage of them in a luggage area would definitly invite unwanted guests to arrive
