Booked club level-my Dh and ds will surely get their money's worth there-
Me and dd-rather more selective.:lmao:

Really looking forward to our August trip-182 days today!:cool1::cool1:

Whoo hooo - glad you got it booked :thumbsup2. HRH looks great.

Can I ask, was it much more expensive in the end to do CL. I know there has been some discussion on here about it being quite minimal extra cost. I just don't know if we would make use of it - we'd want to be in the IoA for rope drop both mornings - so not sure about breakfast, and then we will be in the park until at least lunchtime, possibly longer depending on how we are holding out - but suspect afternoon will be pool time/nap. As we'll only have 2 days, we want to see as much as possible. May as well use the jetlag to our advantage for early am starts!

PS - I am still trying to source flights from Newcastle - looking at indirect now via Gatwick or the likes as concerned the Thomson flight gets us back too late for school!! :scared: If it comes in at a good price though, we'll just book it and worry about it later!

The flights first-

We know someone who always flies from London,as they like to fly ba or virgin.
Uses clubcard points for hotel night before.
We've considered this, but scared either miss connection for some reason-or feeling like we could be on our way back home-and hanging around the airport waiting for flight back to sunny Newcastle!

A lady I know has family in New York, and she goes via Paris-rather than Manchester or London.
it seems crazy to fly the opposite direction-but she prefers to start and end journey from Newcastle.

On a European (extreme bargain),a family we know from ne, actually hired a car back, rather than fly as they didn't enjoy the little propeller plane :scared:

I really don't think there's any right or wrong, whatever you decide-as long as you get there and back safely.

Sorry, I waffle!!

Hrh-was just over £250-as I said boys will eat whatever's going.
Me and dd more interested in the drinks.
We intend to spend 2 full days there also, and utilise as much as possible.
We may even investigate the gym!:wave2:

Well done on such a good price for HRH :cool1:. It seems good to get CL for that! The boys will love it.

Gatwick a no go - just looked and flights we considered were a Saturday - no flights back up Newcastle on a Saturday :scared:.

I looked at via Paris but it was actually 2 US stops, so 3 stops in all - I really don't fancy that, 2 is our limit. I will recheck it though - obviously based on 2014! A friend of mine lives in the US and her and her family here often go that route but theirs is only 2 stops - CDG and I think CIN.

Ideally I'd like to fly from Newcastle, even if via somewhere else so we are landing back into our local airport. I looked at Aer Lingus via Dublin too - great going out, nightmare almost 6+ hours waiting in Dublin airport on way back - not ideal when you are on journey home.

I do like the sound of the direct Thomson flights but it's just the getting back so close to school start that worries me slightly. I wish they were weekend flights rather than a Monday!

Anyway, I can't believe your holiday is getting so close. ADRs soon as well :thumbsup2.

We'll have to start a petition for lower fares and better choice from Newcastle!!

Ooh,just a couple of days til adr bookings-all exciting stuff.:woohoo::woohoo:

We love CL. We've only done LRP. All this talk of Universal hotels over the last few days and HRH inspired me to book one night CL in the middle of our holiday, as a surprise for the kids.

DIS Boards your costing me a fortune ;-)

Is that £250 for one night HRH club level? Can I ask what type of ticket you went for? I am weighing up my options but have pretty much decided on HRH for 2 nights next August (maybe 3) and am considering the 14 day tickets.

It was indeed just over £250 for 1 night club level at hrh.

We intend to get there early, extra breakfast/drinks then off to ioa.
Play nicely, come back for a period in the afternoon, check out the hotel room-top up our club level offerings-then back out to us.
With supper offerings taken up on our return.

And the same in reverse, the next day.:)

We decided upon 2 day park to park tix,as we're literally only going for 2 days.
Not a great difference in price from 14 day UK tix,but we didn't see the point of paying extra-when we're definitely only going to be there for the 2 days.
They were just under £90.
