All About Honeymoons

We are going to be in Disney from Dec 16 to 28, we are getting married on the 21. The first part of the vacation has been sanctioned for "family time" and we are hoping to have the last week of our time as time together. But I have a feeling that we will want to include the family at that time too... :thumbsup2

As for having a cake delivered to the room, I know you can at the GF. I am think you can at the Pop as well. I am having one sent to our room upon checkin in July. You can get the small personal-sized cake (white with white buttercream, or chocolate with chocolate buttercream) for $12.50 each. There is also the smaller personal-size wedding cakes with the mousses (like one with a white chocolate castle on top) for $25 each. Of course, you can just always get a 10 inch cake (with the mousse) for $45 each...

Hope this helps... :wave2:

Those sound yummy! How would I go about ordering one? Do you order it from the resort you are staying at?

We're going Sept. 30 - Oct. 7

After hearing all the comments I am definitely wearing the ears!

you can have the ears delived to your room through http://peggyssweetsandmore.com/index.html at least i'm pretty sure she will...she can get almost anything, put it together in a basket, and have it delivered. i am waiting till it gets closer to contact her but I read her item list over and over trying to decide what to do! I may also do a mini cake from The GF bakery (we are staying at GF so should be a piece of cake. haha no pun intended. well, maybe a little...) :rotfl:

We Disneymooned last June, just celebrated our 1st ann. and despite wanting to plan we decided to take it easy and take meals as and when we wanted. We find in Disney being just two people to be seated seems to have a short wait.

We usually go to WDW in November and charge around the parks doing anything and everything but It just wasn't possible due to the heat, crowds, being tired from the wedding day and prep etc and the 6 1/2 hour delay going out to Florida (coming from the UK I was up for over 24 hours solid)

We still had a lovely time and tried to drink our way around the World, I will do it one day!

Disgirl83 - Regarding clubs in PI, we went to 8Trax and the Adventurers club and we really enjoyed both. We planned to go back and explore a little more but I got a bad pain after dinner one night and had to cancel! But even just walking around PI is fun!

Check with the resort you are staying at. If you are not able to get it delivered right to the resort, I was told by the GF bakery that you can just come there to pick it up.

I have ordered 3 of the small castle cakes with the mousses so DFi will know what our wedding cake will taste like. I ordered 1 I KNOW he will pick (he is quite predictable) and I know he will think are just okay.... That way, I can trick him into ordering the cake I want.... :lmao:

Hope you are able to get everything worked out!! By the way, when is your trip??

We will be there in November 17-26 for our DisneyMoon. Can not Wait, she has never been to Disney, but she LOVES the movies and loves parks so I think she will love it. Ofcourse I am doing my best to make it extra special for her.

Any one have any ideas on things we can do, we have all of our ADRs, going to the circus, Carriage ride, Cake being delivered, the hats are in the Mail, any other ideas?

We are getting married on October 7th and then going on our honeymoon October 8-14th. I'm getting soo excited. The planning is so much fun.

We might have to make a special trip over to the GF to get one of those cakes.

I've been thinking about doing the whole California Grill dinner to view the fireworks, but where else would you al recommend as great (and romantic) viewing spots?

Heatherlynn444, thanks so much for that link. It is great.

We will be going 9/24-30. We have ADRs for Ohana's, LeCellier, Jikos, Mama Melorse's and the special event of the whole trip is dinner at Victoria and Alberts on the last night. We are staying at POFQ. Other than that we are doing all the normal stuff. It wil be the first time for both of us to stay on property and both of us have only been to MK and EP. I want us to experience the parks so I am not planning that much "extra" stuff. But, I am interested in nice little things we can do inside the parks and at the resorts that is not a huge extra charge. For instance, I planed dinners a the Poly and AK so we could walk around and enjoy the sights and sounds of those resorts.

you could go to the GF spa and get massages or something extra special of that nature. watching illuminations or wishes from a good spot can be really romantic too! :wizard:

We will be there for the second part of our honeymoon - seven nights in a one bedroom villa at Saratoga (i'm a dvc member) at the end of October.

Our honeymoon will be our first time to Disney without kids, so we're planning to do lots of stuff we don't usually do.

We've reserved dinner at Victoria and Alberts. We will probably also eat at California Grill and Fulton's Crab House.

We enjoy renting the pontoon boats on bay lake, so we're going to take one of these from the Grand Floridian, and order private dining from there to eat on the boat at lunch time. They're fine about you taking lunch on the boats, so long as you don't take alcohol.

We're also planning golf, and we're going to have treatments at the Saratoga Spa. Both of Disney's spas are fantastic (GF and Saratoga), and I would highly recommend them for your honeymoon. You can even get couples massages.

We're also planning to reserve one of the Segway tours in Epcot. For those of you who haven't seen a Segway before - it is a couple of wheels with a platform you stand on in between, and a handle comes up between them which you hold. They are an electronic transportation vehicle and they look like they will be great fun.

We already got our ears on our trip in May, so we will have them when we get there. For those of you wanting to get them on arrival, I noticed they had them in many of the shops in the park, and also in one of the shops in the Grand Floridian. Not sure about the other resort shops - but they didn't have any in the one at the Wilderness Lodge.

I am actually having a home wedding this weekend 6/10 and my disney moon will be 6/11-6/15. So thats in about 2 days!!!!! :goodvibes

Congratulations!!! I hope you have a wonderful trip. You'll definately have to post some pictures when you get back!

DF and I are "Minnie-mooning" at Disney for 3 days and two nights. We wanted to take a break after the wedding hoopla (hometown wedding), and we also both want to save money to buy a house (why have a huge honeymoon and no house, right?)

So far, I've got AK Lodge booked, and will be booking the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue and possibly Boma for dinners. I SO want to eat at the castle, but I can't think of where to fit it in.

Does anyone know if it's easy to get an upgrade at the AKL? I've booked for a standard room right now, and we are going in January....will we have any luck?

I'm not sure about upgrades myself; however, I've ate at both Boma's and attended the Hoop-de-doo review and both are great.

We were married Dec. 22, 2005, but haven't had our honeymoon yet. We will start our disneymoon the day after our first anniversary. We're staying the first four nights in a one bedroom villa at Boardwalk (I'm a DVC member) and the next three nights at the Contemporary Atrium Club. Not only will we be there for Christmas, but my dh will also celebrate his b'day during our stay. Some of the things I have planned are: Candlelight Processional Christmas Eve with Dinner at Le Cellier or Marrakesh (dh's choice!), Hoop De Doo on Christmas night, and Luau at the Poly day after Christmas. I'm also hoping to get a Wishes birthday cruise and maybe surprising dh with the Richard Petty Driving Experience, I'd also like dinner in the castle one night. DH has never been to Disney so I really want this to be special for him (hoping to make him as big a fan as I am!). He's letting me plan everything and his only request has been to make sure I book some "good places to eat!" LOL! Isn't that just like a guy!?!

I know some of you out there have some great honeymoon story experiences or pictures to share with us! I'd love to see them or hear about them.

Hi all,

Our wedding is here in Mass, and because my future husband is a teacher, we have to wait for school vacation to go on our honeymoon. We're disneymooning during February Vacation. (I'm hoping our wedding ears will cut us some time in lines!!!) We're doing a 4 days on land, 3 days on sea vacation, staying in the Carribean Resort.

I CAN'T WAIT!

DH2B & I are getting married in my hometown on 9/9/06. He proposed to me at POR this past November on a carriage ride (very romantic...)
We fly into Orlando on 9/10 for our disneymoon. I was given DVC points for our honeymoon from my parents. DH2B loves the ocean, so I booked 2 nights at VeroBeach to start the trip with some relaxation that will really be needed. Then, it's off to Boardwalk for 8 nights. I've made all the ADR's and have planned to go to the waterparks on at least one day (he loves the water!!!) Other than that... we're going to take it easy and really enjoy Disney!!!

:dance3:

DH and I are disneymooning next month! I can't believe it's coming up so soon!

I've seen a lot of mentionings of carriage rides and such...

As Dh and I haven't planned this trip through Disney (it's 4 days at WDW, Grand Floridian, then a week-long Carnival cruise), how do I go about looking into prices and/or setting up the carriage ride? Any other romantic suggestions are also welcome! We're definitely getting the ears :)

I'm loving this thread!

so ya, i haven't really posted in here much, but i've been lurking for a long time. DF and i are disneymooning in august this year! (2 months from tomorrow!!!) I'm like more excited about the honeymoon than the wedding at this point (which is a sin, i know lol, but i LOVE disney). DF has never been to disney and i'm so excited to take him there for the first time. We talked about a lot of places for our honeymoon, but i said "hey let's go around the world, it'll be fun" ;) I can't wait! We only have ADRs for CRT for lunch one day (he's a picture freak and will want daytime pictures from the castle i'm sure). I am just so excited. We are stayin at POR which is actually my first time staying onsite for the whole week (my family and i stayed at the swan for one night on our last trip). I love hearing all the stories about past honeymoon's and romantic things you've done, so keep them coming! :Pinkbounc
