So I have to pay the cruise off by next Friday. I have been watching the dollar go up and down up and down the past few weeks and it is driving me insane! I just don't know when to pull the trigger and pay up. A one cent difference adds or subtracts $40 in exchange rate so I keep hoping to see the dollar go higher but it never does. I miss last year when we were at par, should have paid it off back then, who knew this recession was going to kick everybody's butts though.

I hope its at a good rate for you at payoff time. Things stink right now for sure! My company's stock is down to $2.16!! We are Las Vegas Sands, a huge company. What do you do for a living? Are there openings?

Yep, I am tempted to not even look at the dollar and just pay it off right now.

I am an emergency operator for a university security department, sorry no openings, you wouldn't want to work here anyways, crummy pay.

It is just the cruise portion I am paying off, the WDW doesn't need to get paid off until April so I am holding off on that hoping for an improved dollar (yeah right).

The exchange rate is terrible just now! Last year we were getting nearly $2 to the £1 - fab for us!!! Now it's just pathetic! It's tricky knowing what to do just now - I'm sure it will get better again, when though is the million dollar question!

OMG, Lessa! I just realized I'm only 3 years younger than your mom. I can not believe she did not see Star Wars. That is like the ultimate shame for someone who grew up in the golden years of Sci Fi. Just teasing. I hope she can appreciate them now. And it is confusing if your trying to absorb it all at the same time.
My BFF hates all Sci Fi to this day. I don't think I will get her on Star Tours.

Where the exchange rate is really hitting me is in my US shopping, usually I will go down and buy lots of stuff but not anymore. It is just not a good deal as the prices come out to be the same after you do the exchange rate and add on the duty you have to pay at the border.

Eeek, I just paid off the cruise. It is so hard parting with that much money all at once.

Now I just have to wait a week for my excursion booking window to open up.

So after paying off the cruise I had a minor freak-out and second guessed whether we should be paying for AKL when we are taking such an expensive cruise. I really want to stay there though! I checked online and POP still has availability on the 4/3 deal but I am afraid to stay there again after my famous rash episode of 2008. I certainly don't want that happening again. Then there are the moderates. I think I am going to sit on it for a few days and not make any sudden decisions. I just don't know what to do! Part of me is saying to be responsible and frugal and save the money and the other part of me is saying "Go for it! You can afford it!".

That is a tough decision. I say if you can afford it do it. If you want to save some $$ I would try a moderate. This is our first trip so I can't give you any " I love this place" advice but we are trying out CBR. CSR was my first choice but they were all booked up when I tried. We upgraded from POP. Good luck with the decision making!
