Alien Encounter gave me PTSD!! A Dec '14 PTR **Life Update 5/11 & 5/15**

YAY for Mickey mail.

Love your AK plans, and glad you will get a second day there. I haven't been on Kali River Rapids in years.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Good plan for Christmas Day! I would imagine that AK might be the best park choice for Christmas, and you can't go wrong with lunch at Flame Tree!!!

We thought it would be a good park to choose too, since everyone will probably be at MK and Epcot! And I agree, Flame Tree is so yummy!

I knew that I had read something about a refurb. At least I know I'm not going crazy. :rotfl: or should I say crazier. :lmao:

:rotfl2: You're not crazy about the Flame Tree refurb at least! :thumbsup2:lmao:

Thanks! I hope your Thanksgiving was great too!

This past trip with my Mom was only my second time on Kali, the first time being my first trip that I went to AK in 2008.

Quick Duke Update, then PTR Update:

Thanks everyone for the good thoughts for my sister's cat Duke. His feeding tube was taken out last Wednesday and he has been doing great eating on his own since. The hole where the feeding tube was healed within a few days and he is back to acting like his self again. :goodvibes

Now, onto another PTR update since our trip is now 20 days away!!! I cannot believe we can say we are going to WDW this month :woohoo:

DAY SIX, FRIDAY DECEMBER 26TH

This is our first of two full non-park days! We will be sleeping in a bit, probably until about 7-7:30am, then up for showers and getting ready. Around 8-8:15am we will head over to the bus stop and wait for a bus to take us to our first step toward a new breakfast destination for us both!

We will be taking a bus to here, though we won't be going into the park:

Instead we will either take the resort monorail or the boat over to this resort:

(Yes, I know it's now the Polynesian Village Resort, but I took this 2 years ago!) We originally did not have a breakfast ADR for this day, but after seeing Kathy (KatMark) and Mark's breakfast there in her TR we both knew we had to eat here and I managed to snag us an ADR for 9:40am, which worked for us since we could sleep in a bit still.

If we are early we will look around at the Christmas decorations in the resort first, otherwise we will do them after. I'm thinking we will take the monorail over to GF after our breakfast so we can see the decorations and gingerbread house over there too, then take the boat back to MK.

We may stop at Contemporary to look at their Christmas decorations too before we make our way to our next destination, which is...........

Well, we aren't really sure yet. :rotfl: We know between our two non-park days that we want to do miniature golf and Disney Quest as well as exploring DTD. We may head over to DTD and if the wait for DQ is crazy just head over to a miniature golf course instead. Who knows, maybe we will have time to do both :confused3

One thing we will definitely do is our dinner ADR at Planet Hollywood in DTD, which is at 6:30pm. This is the only ADR we will pay OOP for, since we have 12 TS ADRs and only 11 credits. I chose this one to pay OOP for since you get the $10 off voucher with the package, which will help. I have actually never eaten here, nor has George. I've made ADRs here most of my past trips, but I've always changed them to somewhere else. We are looking forward to it though. George really wants to do the Character in Flight balloon both in the day time and at night, so if the weather is cooperating we will do that after dinner.

No matter what after dinner we will head back to CBR and do laundry, then head to bed. We have an early morning the next day!! :goodvibes

Glad your sisters cat is feeling better!
Love the plans, I like spending time resort hopping.

:yay::yay::yay::yay: I'm so happy you and George are going to Kona for breakfast. I think you will LOVE it. I don't know if you or George drink coffee, but if you do be sure to order the Pressed Pot Coffee. THE best coffee ever.

I like your plans for this day of touring the monorail resorts to see the Christmas decorations and then heading to DTD or golfing.

We still haven't gotten in that balloon. It's always raining or too windy when we go. :(

We are happy too! And we don't drink coffee daily, but we do both drink it at least a few times a week. We absolutely plan on getting the Pressed Pot at Kona!

We think it would be a cool way to spend the day, kinda relaxing and fun. And I've been on the balloon twice, though I've wanted to more times but couldn't because of the rain or wind as well.

Hey everyone, sorry I've been MIA! It's been so crazy the last few weeks with work, prepping for our trip and other family stuff with both my family and George's. Then this past weekend we both started to feel sick! Thankfully we went right out for meds and are both back to 80% now, and should be fine by the time we leave on Sunday, which is only 3 DAYS AWAY!!!! :woohoo::yay::dance3::cheer2:

I will try to get quick previews for the rest of our trip up tomorrow! :goodvibes

Get rid of that sickness completely.

And, if I don't get back here (work is insane right now), have a great time and MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and George.

Thanks, we are both feeling even better today! I'm at about 90% and George about 85%. We found a medicine this morning that seems to be helping George more than the last one was.

Thank you, and Merry Christmas to you and your family too! :goodvibes:santa:

Hello all!

I know I haven't been back on since our trip, I didn't like the new DIS at first and then life went crazy, in a good way! First, George and I moved to Utah in March! I have a job at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary taking care of cats in their shelter/sanctuary. George is hoping to get a job in the Wild Animal section of Best Friends and has had some initial interviews, but until that happens he is working for a local bank.

Then, this past Thursday, April 9th, George proposed!! I was not expecting it at all as he had initially said he wanted to wait a couple of years, but he changed his mind apparently! We are still in the early planning stages of course, but we do already know what our honeymoon will be! Any guesses??? I'll give you all a hint, it is Disney related, but not anything either of us has done before! I'll be back soon with the answer!

I don't know if I'll ever do a TR for this trip, just due to time. I may do a short one just because it was such a fantastic trip and we have TONS of pictures. I'll decide on that soon!

I know that I said congratulations on Facebook but it's definitely worth saying again....CONGRATULATIONS! You have been missed on the Disboards! I agree that the new and improved Dis is a hard one to get used to but I sure hope that you'll have time to write a report. I want to see how George liked it.

Congratulations!!!!

I can definitely understand why you haven't been around here lately. That's a lot of change in a short amount of time. But it looks like it is some very, very good change. Congratulations to both of you, and I look forward to the TR if you have time for it!

Thanks again!! I've missed being here too, and all the wonderful people on the DIS! I think I will definitely write something, just probably not a very detailed TR!

Congratulations!!!!

Thanks, it is a lot of changes quite quickly!

So, I said I'd be back with our honeymoon answer, so here it is:

We are going on a Disney Cruise, to Alaska!!!

We haven't booked it yet as we are waiting to hear back about our hopeful wedding location first to make sure it's available for the date we want. But unless something changes we will be getting married in May 2016 and then leaving on the May 23, 2016 DCL 7 day cruise to Alaska. I'm such a planner we already have our top 3 excursions for each of the 3 ports already picked out, and we can't book those until next March :rotfl2:We are both very excited as neither of us has ever been on a cruise or gone to Alaska, but we've both always wanted to do both! :goodvibes

That will be fun! That's one of those definite bucket list type trips.

Congratulations on everything Stephanie, the move, new jobs, your engagement and a Disney cruise! party: I would love to do one of the Alaska ones but it will probably have to wait till after retirement because Jim won't take that long off of work. I guess I could go alone but he does actually want to do an Alaska cruise so I guess I will wait for him.
