Alien Encounter - does it freak you?

I know some people will post that their 4-yr olds thought it was funny, but I think they are in a very small minority. This could give a little kid nightmares for a long time.

Those have to be some pretty tall 4 year olds. The rides height requirement is 44" tall. It also used to have a minimum requirement of 44" tall AND 7 years old even with an adult. Does anyone know why they dropped the age requirement? I have never been on it where the younger kids are not totally freaked out.

My daughter was that tall when she was 4, but I didn't take her on, of course.

I do find it to be kind of creepy, but I keep going back. However, my husband absolutely refuses to go on it. He says the movie Alien was the scariest thing he has ever seen and insists that there really is an alien inside, so he sits outside and waits!!

The saddest thing I think I've ever heard (echos from the "shock" thread I suppose) was being on AE, the alien breaks out, kills the technician, you get splattered with warm liquid, and I hear this poor little boy shriek to his father "daaadddeeeeee!!!! Pleeeeaase don't let him eat meeeeeee!!!!" That poor kid. Utterly terrified. It is important to be careful about making sure children are "ready" or emotionally equipped to ride this attraction.

I agree. I tell people who are going to Disney for the first time to please go and look at the pictures of the ride Dinosaur before taking their kids on it. The Aladdar and the height requirement of 40 inches may throw some people off. But that is one of the scariest rides Disney has IMHO.

Nope, it doesn't freak me or DH out, but our 2 teen DD's won't go on it anymore!
