At the park this morning and noticed that most of the tarps are off Alice. You can also see they have built a green guard rail. It is still closed, but they appear to be making quick work over there.

One miscellaneous note - my family was first in line this morning for regular entry. Our tickets were not working when they opened, which was very frustrating as tons of people walked past us while they checked out our tickets. Turns out the maingate worker did not reset his machine from Magic Morning causing us to lose 15 precious minutes.

Great news! Hopefully alice will be up and running soon.

Any chance you can get a picture of the new rails?

This is what I wonder. I haven't seen a newer pic since right after the tarps went up taken from the Monorail. Now I'm am curious to how thing have progressed.

Thanks for posting! I have hope that it might open for us next week!

If we have to go in summer when it is so crowded, the good part is there is usually nothing down. I just hate to see tarps and stuff up, especially right in the middle where it is so obvious like Alice. Ugh-you can see the tarps from so many angles and it looks depressing!

I am keeping my fingers crossed. Please post again if you see it open! Thanks.

Ooooooh, thank you thank you for posting about this! :worship: I have been scouring the internet and all Disney related boards for an update. I prepared my daughters (4, 9) that it would probably be closed but what a joy if it were open in time for our first ever DL visit in, count them ... five days! Also, we'll be there for five nights so if it isn't open at first we have four more chances. :)

I'm so tentatively excited, LOL.

Oooh.. thanks for the info.. we still have 6 weeks until we get there so hopefully DD will get to ride. I already told her she would miss out so I might keep it as a surprise if it is opened in time........ fingers crossed!

This whole thing with the rails is so lame. The ride opened in 1958 and no one has fallen off in all those years but all of a sudden now we have to have rails!! Osha is the equivalent of the mafia anymore.

I'm not sure, but I think these same rails were there in the pics I saw, which were taken a day after the tarps went up. Like I said these were taken from the monorail so it a very different vantage point.

Anyone know if these rails are new or old?

I'm thinking if they need to put rails on the ride they also need them to construct the ride rails.

Anything's possible. Here are the pics I took 8/1.
