Alice in Wonderland Unscheduled Refurb

Haha, got the sarcasm. I think its unnecessary that OSHA shut it down.

Aha. So that makes sense no. I thought you meant unnecessary to my ":rotfl:" since it was what was quoted. :hippie:

In all honesty has there ever actually been an injury due to not having railing up there. In all the searches I can do the only Alice injury I found had absolutely nothing to do with that segment of the ride.

I just read on MP that OSHA denies having anything to do with the shut down.

Oh, this gives them plenty of time to Tim Burton/Johnny Depp it...

:duck:
:faint:

Don't give them any ideas Jazz. :stir:

:)

& looking over the OSHA rules & regs....I must have missed the part about caterpillars needing guard rails. :3dglasses

One of my very favorite attractions at a Disney Park....I hope they upgrade it quickly.....& do it right.

Yea, I got in the bad habit of just hitting quote at the bottom of the page and not even necessarily referring to the person.

I did a similar search and found this:

"A 15-year-old boy suffered a broken foot and leg when his left foot was pinched between a guard rail and his ride vehicle. He has sued Disney for negligence."

So based on this, I would suggest that Disney NOT install a railing, lest we all be crushed by it.

Thanks. I can't seem to find the update you mentioned above though. Where do I click to find it? The most recent DLR update I seem to find is from the 19th.

Look to the right side of the page. There is a section for recent blog entries.

It's actually the right sidebar under the heading "Featured Blog Entries from the MousePlanet Staff".

Well, let's hope it's not them being shut down and that it will be back up sooner rather than later.

MP has another update stating that a Disney spokesperson has said the ride will go back up "in the next few weeks."

Ooooohhhh, I hope this is true... 10 weeks till I am there, and I would be sooo sad if it isn't up and running by then. And also, I wouldn't care if they put a Tim Burton twist on it (just a little tho!!)

Oh good lord please NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

NOS is already turned into Jack Skellington Square/an extension of Hot Topic for a few months out of the year...:rolleyes1

Maybe they can do a small vine that kind of fits the style of the ride? This really makes me mad, going there in about a week with WDW people that have never been to DL and now they are going to miss one of the unique attractions.

I have faith that the Imagineers can come up with something that isn't too intrusive; it's just that NOT having a fence is part of what "makes" that portion of the ride. When the caterpillar car seems about to fall off the giant leaf is still pretty cool, even though I'm no longer 5 years old

While Al Lutz is (once again) spinning it in a negative-Disney light saying, "Alice in Wonderland has been shut down by Cal/OSHA," another fan site is reporting that this is not truly accurate.

They are reporting that "Suzi Brown, director, media relations & external communications for the Disneyland Resort stated that it was a safety concern brought up by a representative of Cal/ OSHA and that the closure was voluntary so that Disneyland could update the safety of this area of the attraction. According to her statement, a maintenance cast member was walking along the track, the OSHA representative saw this and informed Disney of the potential for hazards. Disney’s official word is that this was a voluntary closure...."

Oh, this gives them plenty of time to Tim Burton/Johnny Depp it...

So, I am guessing you are DisneyDreams714 on another message board site? " Originally Posted by DisneyDreams714 View Post

But aren't we all still 5 years old at heart when it comes to all things Disney? :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
