We really enjoy the Chicken Alfredo at the Olive Garden.

Is the Alfredo at Alfredo's anything close to this???

Thank you!

OMG..Alfredo's is so much better than Olive Garden.

At Alfredo's the fettacine is made right there, you can watch through the window in the waiting area before you get seated. The sauce is fantastic.

Not even comparable. The alfredo at OG is a cheap, cream based sauce. The original alfredo, found at Alfredo's, is what it is supposed to taste like - and it has no cream in it. It's fantastic but not really comparable.

Think about the name. L'Originale Alfredo di Roma. There are tie-ins between the two.

I agree with the above posters, BUT...if you love OG and the creamy sauce, you may be disappointed. :earsboy:

It's super rich, you may want an appetizer portion or even could ask for a children's portion. Whenever I get the full size Alfredo, I can never finish it. But it's very yummy!

Can you explain this? I absolutely love OG alfredo sauce. I was planning on ordering this but now I'm not so sure.

Thank you!

I just love the fettucine at Alfredo's... I'm a big Fettucine Alfredo fan...the best to date! (never eaten OG)

they are apples and oranges - you just can't compare them - Personally if you love OG's alfredo, I have a feeling that you will not enjoy an authentic alfredo. But give it a try - authentic alfredo is to die for!

How is Alfrados? I made an ADR and they had a lot of times open.... it kinda made me nervous because all the other ADRS i have where almost booked!

We like Olive Garden OK, but among the chain links, we much prefer Macaroni Grill. Olive Garden's Alfredo is cream-based and rather thin.

The REAL stuff (which Alfredo's should have, since it's their namesake's) is basically two ingredients - pure butter and parmesian cheese. It's heated until the cheese melts and is made into into a thick sauce, tossed with the pasta, and topped with more parm.

Lord, it's rich. Good, too, but a little goes a long, long way. DW and DD can't finish an entree sized portion. It will sit heavy in your tummy for the rest of the day. I think it's better suited to an appetizer portion, which they offer at dinner.

Alfredo's seems to have improved lately; our last visit was the best ever.

If you are a fan of the alfredo dishes served in places like OG, you may find the version at Alfredo's to be too rich for your taste. I made the mistake of ordering it as an entree and I was only able to eat about 1/4 of it. I found it way too heavy and the cheese sauce was overpowering. I realize that this is the proper way to prepare it, but it didn't agree with me at all. Give me the fake stuff anyday! LOL!!

MMMM i cant wait. I know what you mean when you say its the "real stuff." I live in Queens NY.... i KNOW Italian food! In fact, its hard for New Yorkers to eat Italian, espeically pizza, away from home.

Fettucine Alfredo was created by the ALfredo in L'Originale Alfredo di Roma in 1914. It was created by him for his pregnant wife. He used butter and parmigiano cheese only but since the butter in the states is not as rich as in Italy they added cream in the states to make it richer. The orginal Alfredo's is still open in Italy and is run by the generationsof Alfredo. In the late 70's a family friend opened up his version of the restaurant in NYC and it was a hit.. and thats when we all fell in love with Fettucine Alfredo.
We ate there a few years ago.. well... 6 years ago now I guess . Italian men love baby girls. They were all coming over to the table and giving my daughter surprises and goofing around with her. My sister is single so she ate it up and as a result we got a neat history lesson, a wonderful sampling of almost all of their dishes, and a tour thru the kitchen. It is one of my favorite places I have eaten at WDW. I have fond memories of eating lasagna there with my family when I was a kid so its extra special.
