I live in the Midlands...were the alterations made to your dress by the shop perfect? I'd really like a dress with cap sleeves, but love a lot of dresses that don't have them, so I'd have to get them put on. Did Shirley's do a fantastic job?

I've posted this in a separate thread but i want to keep the planning journal up to date.

We booked the resorts with Disney last week - YAY! 2 weeks at POR and 1 week at CBR. Heaven!

Then my employer decided that it wasn't convenient for me to take the holiday they had verbally authorised months ago so we had to change everything to a week later. Luckily Randy Chapman and Kevin Knox were both available so that was one thing.

My employer then said I needed to take more holiday so that I wasn't back during the Christmas/New Year week but wouldn't let me take the 1 day extra at the beginning of the holiday. It was just 1 day - how important and indispensible am I?! Hmmm...

I'm calling Disney tomorrow to 'reserve' our date and time and just hope that nothing else has to change.

16 months away and we hit the first problem which was the one we didn't think was going to be the problem. Oh well.

I'm sure it will be fine but I feel very let down and disappointed. I've been there for over 4 years, have had very little time off, have Over-achieved at every 6 month review and they won't give me one day, even though I have changed everything to what they have wanted. Just doesn't seem fair.

Awww, thank you honey. I tell you something, when Maggie Sottero's designer sat down and drew that dress out he said 'There is a girl sitting in Birmingham, UK and I am designing this dress for her' coz it looks and feels like it was designed for me.

I saw it on the internet and knew it was the dress for me and boy, was I right. It was a huge amount of money (so much more expensive over in the UK than the US) but worth every penny to feel like I feel in it.

You can't buy that feeling can you? Well, you can really I suppose!

It is pretty **** isn't it? I'm fighting hard for the extra day at the beginning but don't hold out much hope...

Anyway, I'm moving on from the fiasco with the holiday at work. I know I have definitley got one of the weeks we were after for the wedding.

I called DFTW today and a co-ordinator is calling me back within 1-2 business days. I'm on holiday for the rest of this week so will be sitting by the phone!

Brianna called from DFTW today and I now have a co-ordinator. How cool! No-one is interested in our date and time so far so lets hope it stays that way. She was really nice and very helpful.

We are looking at getting the suits before we go (thanks to orangetiggs for the tip on who to use) so we can make sure they are exactly what we want and also we won't have to spend time running around sorting it out when we get there. More time to spend chilling before the wedding - yeah right! Who am I trying to kid!!

Tim and my Dad have decided they will definitely get the suits before they go so that's another day we don't have to worry about when we are there.

I collected my dress from the bridal shop yesterday as I'm a bit worried about the state of the economy. I feel happier having it with me. They also didn't charge me a storage fee for the 5-6 months they had it for. Bargain! They packed it into the storage box I bought and did a really good job with it.

I also picked the free tiara I haggled for when I bought the dress and it is gorgeous. I went for a double-row headband with Swarovski crystals (not at all what I originally wanted) but it means I can wear it as an alice band if I want my hair back, just placed on my head or angled to look like a tiara.

If I can get a good picture of it I'll post it

Also heard back from the lady we are renting DVC points from and she confirmed she still has them set aside for us and will request what we need as soon as the 11 month window opens up.

Everything seems to be coming together - just need to get that time and date from Disney next month...

We are going to use Formally Yours as they had the exact thing Tim and my Dad were looking for and their extended hire rate is brilliant.

YAY - GOT THE DATE AND TIME!! This time next year we will be married. Wow...

I called about 5 minutes after 0830 and got Brianna. Our date and time and location were all available, and we got the contract a couple of hours afterwards.

It seems really weird that after talking about it for over 12 months we have booked it. I'M SO EXCITED!!!

I've confirmed with Rev Kevin Knox and Randy Chapman and also booked my hair and make up. We're not sure if we can afford the stretch Hummer so won't be booking that just yet.

We also decided that we aren't paying for the meal on the night (but will be paying for lunch at the GFC) so that has saved us quite a bit.

i would check out burton if you have one near you, we did and they didnt charge us for extended hire. formally yours used to be quite cheap when we looked last year but there prices have doubled lately
