I figure that DL is like MK with regards to alcohol, but I was wondering if DCA serves beer or wine at counter service or restaurants like EPCOT, DHS and Animal Kingdom.
;)
Thanks!

Where is DCA can you get a glass of wine? We are thinking of having a "picnic dinner" with a loaf of sourdough, cheese etc. Anywhere hubby and I can get an adult beverage and sit on a patio and enjoy?

Alfresco Lounge at Golden Vine Winery has an outdoor wine bar with wine and fruit/cracker/cheese platters. Several tables with umbrellas are available.

The full service restaurants at Wine Country Tratoria also serve wine.

The Cove bar near Arials Grotto has an outdoor full service bar overlooking Paradise Pier.

Beer is also available from a beer truck in the food/dining area at Paradise Pier.

Theres also numerous bars in Downtown Disney, some with outdoor seating. To get from DCA to DTD use the side entrance gate near Grizzly Rapids/Soar'n and walk through Grand California resort.

Love The Cove.

Oh, go to the Cove Bar, get a nice yummy drink and share some amazing Lobster Nachos.......they are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!!!!!! I think you can get a glass of wine at the Alfresco Lounge by WCT (I think that's the right name, I know it's the right place) and then you can take it over to the general seating area on Pacific Wharf (PW also has a Margarita bar and a beer truck) to enjoy with your bread and cheese if you so wish. :)

PS in DLR you can get a drink but only if you are dining at Club 33. :)

Thanks everyone! So it sounds like WCT is the place where I can get a glass "to go" and go sit on the wharf with my family and enjoy my alfresco picnic? Can't wait!

Thanks!

I enjoy wine in the evening, so it looks like I might have to keep some in my GCV unless I make dinner reservations at Alfresco or Wine Contry Tratoria - correct? Or are the outdoor bars at Alfresco and Ariel's open to people not dining - with reservations?

(I haven't made any dining reservations...at WDW I usually don't or only make one :confused3..I don't know what I'm doing in DL and I'm getting worried)

The Alfresco and Cove Bars do not require any type of reservations. Simply walk up and be seated. I've bought a glass of wine from the Alfresco bar and sat and enjoyed it while my girls ran around doing rides, I've done the same thing at the Cove Bar. I prefer the Cove Bar because of the food choices they have there, I am seriously jonesing for some Lobster Nachos....they are just so good there!! :) The Cove Bar has wine choices in addition to the other mixed drink and beer options.

If you wanted to dine at AG or WCT I do suggest a reservation but it is not necessary to simply enjoy an evening drink. Also, if you wanted to dine at BB, CO or CC in DLR I suggest a reservation, these are quite popular choices and it's hard to simply walk up and be seated. No need to worry, DL/DCA is very different from WDW, you will be able to eat no matter what. And keep in mind, with many DL/DCA dining choices you can call the day before and get a seating, and with some it's possible to call that day and get a seating. :)

Great info, thanks! I saw a pic of the Lobster Nachos and already told my guys that is something I'm hoping to get! :thumbsup2

From memory, if you want an alcoholic drink 'to go' , they put it in a coloured plastic cup, so park officials (or just in general) can tell that you have an alcoholic beverage. I know this was the case when I was there a year ago with the frozen alcoholic drinks in DCA, but it may be different now.

This totally makes me want to sing the "Red Solo Cup" song (it's Country, in case you haven't heard it), but I can't imagine they'd send me out with one to drink on the go :rotfl: Sorry--just had this mental image of all these over-tired-from-too-long-lines Disney peeps walking around with the typical dinnerware of BBQs!
