Alcohol offered at Ariels Grotto breakfast?

I agree with the others. A mimosa at breakfast is lovely, especially on vacation (DW prefers the Bloody Mary).

You don't agree with drinking alcohol at breakfast, and that is your right. However many people do enjoy it and that is their right. If it's really that offensive to you another solution would be for you to stick to DL for breakfast next time.

Does anyone else agree this is going a little too far...
We had our Ariels Grotto breakfast the other day and we were offered a selection of cocktails, wine etc.
I mean, fair enough alcohol being served with lunch and dinner, but breakfast at a childrens breakfast?

childrens breakfast...mm not so much, it's a family breakfast and not just children are there. plus this beverage is only offered to the parents not kids, some parents like to have a mimosa with there waffles, i know i do! heck i'd have a glass of wine with my omelette also!! its sounds wonderfull! if i had a kid i would not feel ashamed to let him see mommy funball have a glass of wine. so praise the heavens above, areils grotto has mimosa's at breakfast!!!

For some reason, people on these boards tend to picture alcohol drinkers as college partying binge drinkers. They don't realize that you can have a drink without getting wasted, or even buzzed for that matter.

For some people, a drink in the morning (Kahlua or irish cream in your coffee, bloody mary) jump starts their system. Most of the time, a drink like this will not impair a person in slightest bit. And personally, I don't see how this is any different than someone waking up and having a coke/diet coke/energy drink first thing in the morning. To be honest, a single shot of alcohol in your coffee is going to be less of a stimulant to your system than drinking a monster, rock star, or similar energy drink.

The Princess Breakfast isn't just a childrens breakfast. Adults enjoy the meal and character interaction as well. If Grandma or Grandpa wants their daily bloody mary, why can't they have it? Your children likely won't know what it is unless you tell them so I don't see the harm here.

I also think it is perfectly normal to offer alcoholic drinks at breakfast - Ariel's is first and foremost, a restaurant. And it is not a children's breakfast - it is for everyone. Goofy's kitchen offers alcohol at brunch also.

I personally didn't go with any children, I'm

18 and I was the youngest in my party. I consider this a childrens breakfast as we we're the only family there without a little one and it is really a chance to meet your childs fabourite princess, or yours in some matters.


I don't find it right, that a Disney restaurant is serving alcohol at 9am on a Monday breakfast, it really doesn't seem like it's something Walt would have liked at all. I do see the opinion on hey, we are on holiday! But personally I dislike it.

first of all it is 5 oclock somewhere.. and second AG is not a chidldrens breakfast, second of all i agree with everyone else it's perfectly accetable to have any sort of breakfast type drink that has alcohol with your eggs,and op DCA is a different kind of park, its loose and fancy free.and if you dont like the alcohol DON'T GO!!

oh and i never seen anybody abuse the wine or alcohol at DCA! we are not college binge toga party drinking people--we are just park guests enjoying a fun time at the park. its fun to let loose everyone once and while and i know it's hard to imagine at 18 op!

oh and last and foremost, umm when is this breakfast served? im totally making my ressies!! an anoter thing, i wish peope stop complaining about the alcohol at DCA, we got the point you don't like it, ok but DCA is a different kind of park, its not disneyland..and you know like i said before if you don't like seeing people walk the park with a beer in there hand then don't freakin go to DCA simple as that!!

I don't want to beat up on the OP or anything - but honestly I'm always confused when posts on this board bash people who purchase alcohol I've seen this regarding Glow Fest, the beer truck, the wine bar, the cove bar etc...

I'm mean - it's legal once you're 21 and up - they sell it at DCA and at all the hotels, Downtown Disney .... most people are on vacation and splurging a bit ... while I don't regularly have alcohol with my breakfast, having champagne or a mimosa is heavenly for a treat

I'm pretty sure that the restaurants that offer a full bar always have the bar books on their tables, regardless of the time they're serving. Goofy's definitely has the bar menu on their tables all the time, as does Ariel's. I'be eaten a few times at Goofy's and seen fathers with beers on the table at 9am, grandmothers with bloody marys, and moms with mimosas.

I find nothing wrong with the offering of alcohol at any time.. In fact, I'm more apt to eat there

I'm more along the lines of it's not to far, it's everybodies decision to order it or not. No one is forcing them to drink it why force them not to.

Tink91: personally I think you should go to WDW is if you haven't already. There is a lot more alchohol there. But I would still encourage you to visit because it is an exceptional place anyway.

The OP, Tink91, is getting at the heart of what the real problem is here. It's another one of those, "What Would Walt Do" moments. And I think everyone should lighten up on Tink91, cause I know for a fact that she isn't the first person to ask that question on this board. Those of us who think Disney is something truly special often feel, for whatever reason, that something about the current state of affairs isn't living up to the ideals that used to exist in one man's head. Whoever isn't guilty of this one can go ahead and cast the first stone. Rides? Attractions? The sequel mill? Michael Eisner? You name it. Most of us have complained about something not adding up over the years. Tink91 is no different.

That being said, I think this may be a good opportunity to remind ourselves of one inescapable fact. Disney is a corporation. It may be the happiest, most whimsical, most fireworky, most family friendly, most fun, most enduring, most creative corporation in the world...but...it is still a corporation. And that corporation knows most of us wouldn't turn down a mimosa.
