Alcohol offered at Ariels Grotto breakfast?

I gotta admit, serving 'drinks' with breakfast is kinda weird. Of couse this is from a guy who years ago was cooking breakfast for my GF,(now wife).
I had everything laid out. Bacon,chk,eggs,check OJ, check,Cold beer,check. She asks,"What are you doing?" I replied,"Makin breakfast". "With a beer???" I told her,"Hey,don't bug me,I'm camping". :thumbsup2

Glad I could provide useful information! :rotfl:

Just to add - perhaps it's new, but on all tables was DLR's usual drink menu so it should now be pretty clear that they serve alcohol, at least for dinner. The menu did not feature mimosas or bloody marys (usual brunch drinks), but I just asked for it and there was no problem.

And just for the record to others that worry about people being drunken idiots - after my mimosa I was not a loud, obnoxious drunk in front of children. I was just able to tolerate those strollers jamming my ankles a little bit better. :thumbsup2

Hmmm...I am thrilled about this Mimosas at GK idea however, I must question how much said Mimosa is. Is it decently priced by a high end bar standard? Or outrageous? If it's below $10 I am soooo doing it!

I can so see myself and DH wanted a Mimosa after 5 days in a hotel with kids.:rotfl:

Nice! I will now be having a Mimosa at AG for breakfast! Champagne breakfast! Woohoooo

:rotfl:

Just a reminder...she said she was 18... so she can't even order a drink here! And, remember, morning felt pretty good at 18 for most of us, even without a mimosa!

Tink91 I sure hope you don't think anyone is picking on you, just people's opinions, personally I like to drink but never in the morning (but that is my choice). If smoking in Disneyland is ok then surely drinking shouldn't be an issue. I do have to say I personally think a drink is way less offensive than someone blowing smoke in the air I breathe, atleast I don't have to taste the drink someone else has.

I prefer beer in my pancake batter with Jack Daniels infused syrup. Then I like to wash it down with some Rum Punch. It gets the day off to such a wonderful start :thumbsup2

Yum!!!!! I'm on my way to your house for breakfast in the morning. :rotfl::worship:

Frankly I dont think it should be in the parks at all personally, but i guess in a resturant for dinner is at least reasonable. I just dont think its ther right message, but for breakfast thats just silly :scared1:

Edit: having read the rest of this thread I feel I should mention what I mean is that I dont mind that other people do its your vacation not mine, Its just not something I personally am comfortable being around.

Yeah, I'm not your typical Utahn...In no way does my family or me fit the normal Utah stereotype.

I think it's one reason though why I get so defensive about alcohol. I live in a state where you get judged and shunned for drinking alcohol. The general population here has NO clue about alcohol or the effects, they assume that one drink means your wasted and that if you drink, you're a bad person. Not all Utahns are like that, but you would probably be shocked to see how many are that way.

When I go on vacation, I enjoy being able to get away from it all for a week or so. Threads like this (and Glowfest) irritate me because if I want to be judged, I would just stay home!

Nor am I, caimakale.....said as I enjoy a lovely martini....yes, the judgment is there but I've learned to ignore it.

I just noticed your sig.....you leave in 68 days. I think we'll be there the same time. We are leaving December 8th. How about you? Where are you staying. Enjoy your trip!

I'm reading this and thinking that something like a mimosa... but grapefruit instead of OJ, so a greyhound mimosa... would be fabulous.

Thanks - but no, I am fine ;) I do enjoy drinking, at home where I can. I just don't think breakfast is the best time...I guess I am one of the only ones who thinks this though.

We are leaving on the 8th as well! We're staying at the GCH, it's our home away from home! We were just there a few weeks ago and decided we needed to go back to see the parks and the GCH decorated for Christmas. We'll be flying in Wednesday night and flying home Sunday night (12/12...landing at 10:30ish PM) on Jet blue.

We get home late on a work/school night, but our plan is to have clothes washed and ready before we leave on Wednesday, for work/school on the Monday following our trip. That way we can land, drive home, and crash...without having to worry about unpacking until Monday night. This will give us a good chunk of the day in the parks on Sunday before we have to leave.

Our dates are the same...where are you staying?

Nothing wrong with bloody mary or enhanced fruit juice in the morning if you use good judgement. There is a problem if you decide to get sauced. Then you deserve to be tossed out.

If too many over indulge Disney will make a correction to their serving policy.

Wowsa! Sounds like we'll be on the same flights and we are also staying at the Grand in a park view room. Our flight out leaves at 4-something.....I can't remember the exact time. I'm a teacher and Wednesday is our early day. Otherwise, we'd have to take the later flight. It's hard getting in so late on a school/work night but like you, we have a plan and are ready to tackle the next morning. :) Enjoy your stay. We love the Grand and are so excited to see it and the parks decked out for Christmas. It's the only time of year we haven't been!!!!!

That is so funny!!! We leave on the Jetblue 6:10PM flight on Wednesday and then return on the 7:35PM flight on Sunday (also Jetblue). Christmas is also the only time of year we haven't been...weird.... LOL :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Actually, I just looked.....we're on the 6:10 flight, and the 7:35 flight too. For whatever reason, I had in my head that we were leaving at 4-something. Weird. Small world. :) So odd that we're on the same flights, both directions and staying at the same hotel. I'm sure it happens often, we just happened to discuss it. :) Enjoy your vacation. We're excited to experience the parks during the holidays. It's something we've never done.

You too! I've already started planning some fun things for the fam...I think we'll eat at Napa Rose for the first time, do the holiday tour, and will do fantasmic dessert if Murphy is back by then. Anything else I'm missing...besides just taking in the holiday atmosphere at the parks?

Not sure what you're missing......we did Napa Rose on our last trip......honestly, I didn't love it but I'm thinking we might have just had a bad experience......there's always a lemon, right?????

We've talked about the holiday tour but haven't decided 100%. Part of us will love it, the others will just go along for the ride. Trying to decide if we want all of us to go or not. We haven't been since WOC opened so we are planning on an Ariel's Grotto meal for passes to that. Other than that, we're wide open. :)
