Alcohol offered at Ariels Grotto breakfast?

Does anyone else agree this is going a little too far...
We had our Ariels Grotto breakfast the other day and we were offered a selection of cocktails, wine etc.
I mean, fair enough alcohol being served with lunch and dinner, but breakfast at a childrens breakfast?

I didn't think they served alcohol at any meal there, but yes I agree at breakfast it's not necessary.

I'm not sure what you mean by "going a little too far".

I don't have a problem with it. Lots of people enjoy a Bloody Mary, etc. with brunch. Most of the restaurants that I frequent in my city serve alcohol with breakfast. If they serve during lunch or dinner, what would be the difference if they serve during breakfast?

Meh, I don't see much problem with it. Either you get it or you don't, move on with breakfast and enjoy the day.

I had a Bloody Mary with my breakfast at Ariel's. It's late enough in the day to be way past my breakfast time. The hostess didn't skip a beat when our table of adults ordered up some other things.

For some reason, people on these boards tend to picture alcohol drinkers as college partying binge drinkers. They don't realize that you can have a drink without getting wasted, or even buzzed for that matter.

For some people, a drink in the morning (Kahlua or irish cream in your coffee, bloody mary) jump starts their system. Most of the time, a drink like this will not impair a person in slightest bit. And personally, I don't see how this is any different than someone waking up and having a coke/diet coke/energy drink first thing in the morning. To be honest, a single shot of alcohol in your coffee is going to be less of a stimulant to your system than drinking a monster, rock star, or similar energy drink.

The Princess Breakfast isn't just a childrens breakfast. Adults enjoy the meal and character interaction as well. If Grandma or Grandpa wants their daily bloody mary, why can't they have it? Your children likely won't know what it is unless you tell them so I don't see the harm here.

I also think it is perfectly normal to offer alcoholic drinks at breakfast - Ariel's is first and foremost, a restaurant. And it is not a children's breakfast - it is for everyone. Goofy's kitchen offers alcohol at brunch also.

Add me to the "dont see a problem" club. It's not a children's meal. Assuming characters = kids only won't go over too well on these boards. Adults enjoy all three meals at Ariel's, and as adults are entitled to whatever beverage they choose. As someone else mentioned, having a drink does not automatically equal being drunk or innapropriate. It's very common for people to have a drink before 5pm.

Why does it bother you? Were there drunk people at the breakfast? Did the waitress/waiter try to talk you into having alcohol? Did your child grab a beer and kick back? Or did you just see the option on the menu and assume the worst? Just because YOU wouldn't drink in the morning, or at a certain place, doesn't it mean it isn't ok for other people to.

But seriously, I agree with PP regarding responsible drinking vs. college party kids. Beer with cold pizza for breakfast is a little different than a breakfast cocktail at a resturant.
A little bloody mary or mimosa is fine with breakfast...on vacation...

Ok first have you never heard of a champagne brunch or bfast? Or ever heard of a Mimosa or Bloody Mary? I know plenty of people who have those with bfast and I personally love a champagne brunch! Super good!!!! So no, I don't have any problems with it, I also knew they served alcohol with every meal because we've eaten every meal there.

Second, why do you consider AG a children's meal? I'm an adult and love the food there, and I love character bfasts and don't consider them children's meals at all.

Do they? I've been eating at Goofy's since 1992 and have never seen any alcohol pass by our table en route to another table during breakfast/brunch. (They don't serve a separate brunch. The breakfast IS the brunch - same food, same price, just extended hours on select days). If they serve alcohol, I have never seen it. That's very interesting to learn! Goofy's definitely serves alcohol at dinner - this much I knew.

I personally didn't go with any children, I'm
18 and I was the youngest in my party. I consider this a childrens breakfast as we we're the only family there without a little one and it is really a chance to meet your childs fabourite princess, or yours in some matters.


I don't find it right, that a Disney restaurant is serving alcohol at 9am on a Monday breakfast, it really doesn't seem like it's something Walt would have liked at all. I do see the opinion on hey, we are on holiday! But personally I dislike it.

That's so interesting to know! In all these years, I have never seen anything that looked like a Bloody Mary or a Mimosa or even remotely alcoholic in the restaurant at breakfast. And we have never been offered any alcohol, either. They always just ask us if we want water, coffee, tea or different types of juice. You learn something new every day!!

I almost wish I knew about the alcohol at GK sooner - I wouldn't be drinking but I have a friend or two who definitely would have enjoyed a drink with breakfast when we went.

I wonder if the Critter Breakfast also serves booze at breakfast?
