Is there alcohol available near the cabanas on the family beach? We were going to rent a Serenity bay cabana, but we like the access from cabana to beach better in the family cabanas. If alcohol is only served at Serenity bay, we probably shouldn't get a cabana on the family beach.

The concierge hosts and concierge bartender work that area during the day. So, if you are a concierge guest, you will be working with people you already know.

Ringing the bell may or may not bring the concierge staff. We had to chase down the bar staff walking the beach to get drinks. Concierge never checked on us during the day either.

Of course ever vist to CC will vary. It will vary per sailing depending on vessel size, weather, season, operational contingencies, pax, and other variable conditions that may exist which vary daily.

To the point.

If you like a bar next to your Family Cabana, then a lower # is definitely in order.

The physical Bar (Sand Bar) is located just just East of the Family Cabanas on the Public Beach.
IOW near Cookies Too.
Cabana #1 is closest, #21 is the farthest away.

From # 10- #1 it is easy to walk to the bar on the beach. #1 is 30 seconds, #10 is 4 minutes maybe.
Distances and times are greater on the path behind said huts.

Said bar is basically at the line between the Family Cabanas, and the Family beach, albeit on the public side.
The barrier on the beach consists of a rope and crates.
On the beach you can easily step over the rope to get the the Bar. It's the usual technique if on the sand.

Just be careful stepping over the rope headed West without a bracelet. CMs apparently are lurking and don't condone passage for those without a Bracelet. :guilty:

BTW. Don't plan, nor expect your Cabana Host to supply your refreshments. Sure, they walk thru the area ever hour or so, to help out.
That is all wonderful and whatnot, and has a great PR value. However, that doesn't replenish my beverage quickly.
Having a low # Cabana offers you the ability to self serve. JMHO.
Also increases the odds of a bar server perusing the beach head. Which occurs, randomly of course.

#1 -#9 walkable on beach bar quickly.

Obviously the lower the # Cabana, the closer you are the the Bar.

Cabana #2 is 1 minute from bar, Cabana #6 is 3 minute walk from bar, including the barrier transition. I'm talking about on the beach, in the sand, on foot. fwiw.
These distances that I hear about often on this website are exaggerated. The area isn't that big.
Even looking on Google Earth, the distances are not that far. The distances are not that great even if in GC #21.

Once at said rope/barrier separating the Family Beach from the public beach, you must make a choice, step over a rope, crawl under, or you could hurdle the wooden crates.
You could also try to swim over out in the water. But you must cross the "rope" in the water. Yes the rope and crates on the beach head extend out into the water.

ETA; Lol. no crates in water, only a rope. lol.

No body crosses the "rope" lol. :sad2:
Yes there is a rope separating the Family Cabana Beach from the shared public beach in the water.
Yes it is monitored. :p

Regarding the rope in the water ....

If you cross from left to right you get flamed. If you cross from right to left you get flamed.
Good luck to those in the water crossing the boundary. It almost is like the DMZ zone during some visits. Lol.

Enjoy

Just stay away from the rope. :)

This I may have heard from a friend whose friend's relative may have sailed DCL at a point in time in the past. :duck:

We need a more up to date image, IMO.

This sounds like Serenity Bay, except you don't get a Concierge host at all. You get some random crew member who is often not even taught how to handle everything. We've never had one answer the bell on SB yet, nor have friends.

Maybe we have been lucky or maybe the ship size (classics) but we always had a cabana host come the few times we rang, or they were popping up here and there-even on the beach, so we rarely rang, and the drink host was always around. Once on the Magic (not concierge, but scored a cabana) twice on the Wonder (yes concierge). Didn't see much of a difference either way. Like I said maybe due to Ship size.
We also were Cabana 8, 9 & 10 for all of them so not far from bathrooms (new bathroom located near cabana 12 or something) and bar right at the beginning.

there is a drink menu in your cabana and use the bell, thats what you paid for. We did not have any issue with the service and in fact our conci host showed us around and pushed the button himself. Another server not conci staff showed up in a minute or two to see if we wanted anything. i am assuming the conci host was testing the responsiveness. it seems there were alot of complaints before so it seems like they may have increased staff. there were other people besides conci hosts working the cabanas and this was in April.
