Alcohol - how readily available are the bartenders?

Are they quick to get you a drink? How are the bartenders up at the pool area?
On the other hand - Any place onboard ship where they seem too pushy/make you feel like you should have a drink in hand?
I read that you dont get a slip w/each drink ordered. Is this still the case? If we ask for one, can they give one? I feel I need to keep a monetary eye open.

On our Wonder trip, I don't remember pushiness anywhere.

When we were at the adult pool, we either went to Signals, or just asked a sever who was walking around.

We always got a slip.

On both of our cruises there was no wait anywhere.....except at the ESPN sports bar on Sunday during football games. While sitting around the pools a waiter or waitress walks around but mostly with the specials of the day. And yes, I did sign for and recieve a recipt with every drink ordered.........except at dinner, you sighn at the end of the meal. On Castaway Cay there are limited portable bars depending on where you plant yourself......but on of the waiters was nice enough to bring a six pack in a bag of ice.........he must have been tired of walking back and forth. LOL

Actually I never found any of them pushy. We made friends with Amanda from Australia the first day and she became my "personal" bartender for the rest of the cruise. She would wander up if she saw me, chat for a minute and then go get me the drink of the day. She was also on CC and I just ordered from her. She always gave me a bar slip. BTW, it depends on how far from a bar you are as to how fast they will get the drink to you. For instance, while sitting near Topsiders, I ordered a BBC (sigh...wish I had one now) and it took longer than when I was sunning on deck 10 near the pool (above, obviously). And on CC it took a looooong time for my Konk Cooler, the first time...after that, I would just look at Amanda and she would go get one! LOL

I never found anyone pushy. Never had to wait for a drink (and there were many many ) We always got a bar slip though. Infact on all three cruises we always did so I don't know about that. You do have to sign for it with your cabin number on a two part form they keep the top you take the bottom.

There are plenty of places to get drinks and with any luck you will find them all.

The only time (and I wouldn't call this pushy) where we were caught off-guard was the first few hours when you get on the ship.

All passengers are excited and the cast members are walking around with trays of "umbrella" drinks. They are happy to give you one, and it almost appears that it is for free, but of course it is not.

If you take one they are quick to ask you for your stateroom number and key to the world card.

Personally I think it is nice to see how helpful those cast members can be.

The trick with the drink waitstaff is actually simple, they are always around, but won't outright bother you usually. All you have to do to get one to serve you is: make eye contact and they'll come right over to take an order or sell you a drink off their tray. I don't drink, but go after the smoothies myself

And they are always supposed to give you a receipt, it may not be too legible however, some were very hard to read. But you can always ask for a statement of room charges at guest services. I would almost recommed doing so halfway on the 7 day and do comparisons, sometimes the scribble can easily be misread and you get charged someone else's drink too.
