Has anyone ever used this to have groceries delivered to the hotel? I was trying to figure out if it's worth the convience or just hop in a cab and go to Food for Less. Any advice is appreciated.

We had Albertson's deliver to HoJo. It was very convenient. You can pick out exactly what you want (2 bananas, one peach yogurt, one blueberry yogurt... like that) and they will deliver it to the hotel. Have it delivered during a window just before or just during when you expect to check in. The front desk will hold it for you. HoJo actually put it in our room for us so the milk would stay cold, but I think they only did that because we asked specifically and they weren't too busy.

I think you get free delivery if it's over $50? Used to. It's not too hard to get there. We ordered fruit, yogurt, milk, juice, a rack of bottled water, cheese sticks, crackers, cereal in those little individual boxes, plastic bowls and spoons, and a roll of paper towels. I think I added on a couple of bags of chocolate or candy or something to make it to $50, and then we just took the leftovers home.

We did Safeway (Vons, down in CA) when we stayed at GCH, and that was good, too, but since then they changed their online ordering, and we couldn't get the stuff we wanted. So we went with Albertsons and were quite pleased.

Hope that helps!

Thanks.
I am bring all of the package type stuff in our suitcase, so I figured I would just order the cold groceries, ya know? I planned it this way so I would have an extra suitcase for all of those suvouners, LOL!!!!

So, would you say that it's comparable to just catching a cab and doing the shopping myself or what?

I would say it all depends on your plan and touring style. We did grocery delivery last trip, and even though we discovered that we could have taken a cab to a nearby Target and bought everything ourselves, I still say it was worth it for us. Instead of spending time shopping, I was spending time in the pool with my family and going out for dinner, while someone else was roaming the aisles finding my groceries for me.
My philosophy is, I spend enough of my life shopping for groceries. When I go on a holiday, it can be a holiday from grocery shopping too!

I'm sold. albertsons.com here I come. Thanks guys.

We have done Albertson's twice with no issues and I won't even start on the time we had Von's deliver...they did deliver a day and a half late with not our whole order......:sad2:

Oh, I will have to check into this too. We usually buy stuff at the little 7Eleven type place but I'm sure this could be cheaper..

I thought about the 7-11 thing too, till I found out the closest one to my hotel is 1 mile away. Granted it's only a mile but when you add a gallon of milk and some other groceries, it's longer than a mile, LOL!!
