Albany, NY?

We've decided to go tomorrow to a concert tomorrow night in Albany. Staying at the Courtyard, couldn't get anything within walking distance to the venue. Can anyone recommend a decent restaurant or two? Not fancy, casual but good food.

I'm originally from Albany, though I haven't lived there in a number of years. I'm not sure where the Courtyard is (being from the area, my knowledge of the hotels is limited), but if you find yourselves near the Crossgates Mall, there's an awesome restaurant called The Standard. It's really good food, and not very pricey. I recommend the crab cake BLT.

The Courtyard is on Washington Ave., and we are going to the Times Union Center. So hoping to find a restaurant somewhere near the arena, this way we can park and go eat. The crab cake BLT sounds delicious though.

There is a place downtown called The Olde English Pub & Pantry. It's a traditional English pub (think Rose & Crowne at Epcot).

If you go during any of the World Cup matches tomorrow, I'm sure the place will be hopping, despite England's early departure.

Edit: and considering the concert you're going to, this is a very appropriate choice.

Lol! That would be appropriate. We'll have our 13 and 16 year olds with us, is it an ok place for them, or too much of a bar crowd?

I think you'll be fine. The bar is up front, but there is a large dining room beyond that. I believe they even offer outdoor seating.

I second this recommendation. You wouldn't expect the food from a restaurant in a mall, but it is the best place to eat in Albany. Their steaks are fantastic.

The Albany Pump station and Victory Cafe are good options too..Enjoy Paul McCartney!
