Albany, NY - Desmond Hotels

My husband and I will be visting Albany next month for his company softball tournament. (It also happens to be our anniversary.) The company has a corporate account at the Desmond Hotel in Albany. I took a look at the website and it looks nice and the rate is pretty good too.

Has anyone stayed at this hotel? What can you tell me about it?

I live near there and it is very nice. It's really neat b/c the inside looks like you are in an old city with a courtyard and the rooms around it. I would completely recommend it. The restaurants are good in it as well. My parents have stayed there often when visiting me.

Thanks! We're getting it for $99 a night. Someone else I know online who lives in that area said she wasn't sure of the regular rate, but thought $99 was a steal.

We have stayed there a few times and LOVE it! the indside is just beautiful.
One of my college friends had their wedding there and we fell in love with the place. I think we have stayed there 4 times. I think $99 is a GREAT rate. You are going to love the hotel

I was originally going to book the Hilton, but before I had a chance to book it, the rate went up. I was kicking myself for missing out and ended up booking the Hampton. The Hilton rate was one of those "no cancellation" rates, but the Hampton was the regular weekend rate. When my husband received the information last week about the hotel that the company was holding, I took a look and started to think that maybe missing out on the Hilton rate wasn't such a bad thing. I cancelled the Hampton this morning and book Desmond.

I'm just glad we'll be staying somewhere nice for our anniversary. Honestly, a softball tournament in Albany wasn't really what I had in mind for an anniversary get-away, but it sounds like it's going to be better than I'd imagined.

Request a courtyard view room. They had a great restaurant for breakfast too
