I was looking at the opening day prices for 2016 and it seems the cheapest veranda with two adults and two kids was around $9,500 for Mid-July. If you were to book that same room now its $11,300. What would be your opening day ballpark figure guess for 2017, half way between the two? When will they independent excursions and hotels start taking reservations for 2017?

Thanks,

Thanks,
$10,500 is my guess.

I've noticed since our first Alaska sailing in 2013, the verandahs especially have gone up significantly whereas the other categories haven't increased as much. In 2013 we paid around $5,000 for 3 of us in a 7A verandah and opening day 2016 was in the low $7000's. In comparison, we are in a 9C for the 3 of us for 8/2016 and with my OBB it's around $4400. The difference for 9C to 7A in 2016 opening day was about $2500. You can also check out the website cruisefish to review pricing and when prices went up.

Thanks,
We booked our hotel about 7 months in advance and booked two of our excursions at the same time (whale watching - private boat for 10) and float plane (two float planes). For Skagway, I think I booked about three months out.

Forgot to add and answer one of your questions ~ we've already booked the Pan Pacific in Vancouver as well as the Bering Sea Crab Fishermans Tour for our 8/2016 sailing and I booked them about a month ago. We will do a private excursion in Skagway and I can book it now but I was spacing out the $$ lol.

When did you book the Pan Pacific to get the lowest price? How far is the walk from where Disney docks to the Bering Sea Crab Fishermans Tour? I saw by purchasing direct you can save some money.

I am hooked on a verandah stateroom when cruising, but 2 years ago we had 2 Ocean view staterooms, connecting, on Deck 2 on the DCL Alaska cruise and very much enjoyed it. Being closer to water level made it a tad easier to spot whales IMO.
