James,
good thoughts coming your way on the surgery. DH had his done (Oct 16) and was feeling pretty good within 3-4 weeks. Feeling pretty great by beginning of January. Same time frame as now to cruise date.

We are having our 22nd Wedding anniversary on the cruise.:cheer2::cheer2:
emoticons are by dd9.

:teacher: She says this one is me.:coffee: This is more me if you see me in the morning before the coffee.

:tinker::tink:These are dd9 I think this one princess:

:goofy:pirate: These are ds17

:smickey: :rolleyes1 These are dh. Watch out for him. He's a prankster.

Counting down very excitedly to next Thursday when we can sign up for excursions.

Hey Jim good luck on the surgery. Just a quick note I didnt get the Chief position but they made me Deputy Chief :firefight Oh well I tried. :confused3
Looking forward to posting a little more frequently on here!

Welcome to those newer folks that have recently joined!

I haven't been on here in the longest time. Finally catching up. You can add that I will be celebrating our 30th anniversary and daughter is graduating college.
Also does anyone know which zipline tour is the best one to do. I see that there are tours in each of the ports. This will be the only excursion that we will be doing and I want to make sure I pick the right one.

thanks.

I believe I had looked at Cruisecritic for advice on mine which is why I picked the Rainforest Zipline in Ketchikan - the reviews made it sound like the Bear Creek was on the tamer side, and I wanted a little more adventure. But that site may help you out. My first trip to Alaska so sorry I can't be more help.

So far the whole process has been easy. Until now. The site was updating when our Port adventure window opened. Just a temporary exercise in patience.

Then we found out our very "active" 17 yr old who is just 4 months shy of being an adult at cruise time, can not do any "active" activities unless his non active parents go with him. Parents can only do "moderate" activity.

Not wimps, just on the injured reserved list right now. Those we can do our dd9 is too young for. If it were size related she is the size of most 10 year olds but Disney is inflexible on this.

I am kind of surprised there is only 1 Teen activity the whole time. No choice. So far he is handling the disappointment well.

So we are hoping that in Skagway we can find an independent vendor to let him rock climb and rappel, zipline or some other activity to burn off his energy.

So if you see ds running laps on the ship, wave and say hi!.

Congrats on both events. Seems like a lot of us are celebrating anniversaries.
We're celebrating 22 years on the 27th.

How many anniversary's does this make within this small group? People keep saying that marriages don't last but it seems to me that we have a lot of years of marriage in our group. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Yeah that was one of the ones I was thinking of doing. They have the same exact one in Juneau. Now which one to do? We want the one with the most adventure.

We will be celbrating our 25th later this year But my 51st birthday will be may 22nd so we are kinda celebrating that!

For sone reason I can't access the check-in.. :confused3Guess I will try later so I can enter our passport numbers..My DW is now getting a little excited about the trip.. I was thinking of dropping the whale watch in Juneau as I hope we see some whatle signs :sail:on the Wonder. Looking forward to seeing all on the ship and we still need to get a meet and greet the first day on the ship.. If it is not raining we could meet up by the upstairs bar(name escapes me right now) or if it is raining we could meet at the promenade bar on the main deck.. Inside may be better for the folks with the chairs and tables..Lets get some concensus of what we want to do..

jrp,
glad to hear you are doing okay. I've been checking in to see how you were. Maybe you and hubby can compare war wounds.

Please add our 22nd anniversay to the list.
Names: Skye, Kevin (the Great), Broderick & Kitty (this week- usually Katie)

I've heard good things about seeing whales in Juneau so no advice to offer.

We're getting excited too. Just waiting on dd9's corrected birth cert to get our enhanced ID's.

Is anyone still driving?

NW --Skye

Hi Skye..You will not believe this but one of the nurses in the hospital was Skye.. She was also my choice as best of all the nurses also..She even let me walk out of the hospital without using a wheelchair..DW didn't like it too much though when she gave the hug outside the car..lol Old Men Rule hehepirate:pirate:We thought about driving but it will take us about 3 days to get there unforseen any problems as it is 2300+ miles to Vancouver.. :teacher:The way gas prices are going it may be cheaper to fly now.. Still haven't made up our minds..Probably will fly..:scared1:Yeah and I used to be in he Air Force and I was Aeromedical inclined in my EMS career..lol It;s my DW that has the problem flying.. I got her in an experimental helicopter once which took off from the Hyatt in Greenville S.C, and I though she would die then..lol Thanks for all he kind responses to my health everyone.. Adios:dancer:

We have taken the fast ferry from Skagway to Haines (AK) and have seen numerous whales in the Lynn Canal along with seal lions etc....:3dglasses

We will be celbrating our 10th anniversary and our daughter's 9th birthday on the cruise!!!:cheer2:

I'm pretty much been lurking on this thread but as we get closer and closer the more excited I get! So yay! I am opening up! hahaha!
Anyone staying the night before in Vancouver? We booked the Pan Pacific so I think all we do is walk down and get on. Can't be easier than that I don't think.
I am so anxious to see the navigators and read reports of the first Alaska sailing.
Anyone else stressing on what to pack? I am!
