Alaska - Lumberjack Show Age Restriction?

Hello :)

I am trying to book my Port Adventures for our upcoming Alaska cruise, and having some trouble booking my 2yo for some of them. Specifically, I tried the Lumberjack show in Ketchikan, and the campfire breakfast in Skagway. Both of them show $0.00 for ages 0-2 on the list, but when I go to book us, his name is greyed out, and it says "age restriction"

I was thinking it was because he was free, he didn't need a ticket, but saying "age restriction" is making me wonder if he's not able to go at all?

Any experience with this?

Since the boat includes a stop in Vancouver. Also consider a visit to Grouse.... there's a lumberjack show there that includes the Grouse gondola ride. Your infant will have no problems getting in and it frees up your time for other Ketchikan activities.

A lot of the DCL excursions do have age restrictions. We wanted to go Kayaking in Ketchikan with my DD (who will be 8) but DCL only allows 10 and over. We booked with a private company that allows 6 and over. So if there are age restrictions, booking outside DCL can help.

That said, I'm looking at "The Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show (KE40)" and it says "All Ages" so you should be able to. "Klondike Campfire Breakfast (SW63)" also says "All Ages" so I think there's a glitch. I would probably call.

you can book the lumberjack show directly and not thru Disney. just google them. in retrospect that's what we should've done (we went in early July last year)--it would've been cheaper, and we wouldn't need to sit thru the lame pre-show that simply consisted of kids using a gigantic slingshot to shoot a mickeyhead target. it was really a waste of time. the pre-show, that is.

Disney guests get to go in first. the non-Disney guests sit in a special roped-off section that gives the same good view as everyone else.

Yep, totally agree. We went to Alaska with NCL and the ship's lumberjack excursion was more expensive than just booking it directly so we just booked tickets online. It's really easy to get to (just walk a couple of blocks) so there's no real need to book through DCL.

Totally agree if you book the lumberjack show through DCL you are just wasting your money.

To the original question, yes, young children who are eligible to go on an excursion but young enough to be free seem to get this greyed out thing. Our experience and what I've read here is that's the way the system works; we showed up with the littles and had no problem.

No experience with booking for a 2yr old, but we booked the Disney Exclusive Alaskan Lumberjack show in Ketchikan and there were babies. I don't think there is a restriction. It's likely that they don't get or need a ticket for the show. It was a great show. When they asked the children to try to hit the target. My 10 yr old daughter was the first one to hit it. Her reaction was priceless. My 15 yr old son and his same age buddies missed (who looked confident that if my daughter can hit it then they should be able to as well)....after they all tried, the girl behind them hit it as well and she became the second one...it was quite entertaining.
