Alaska cruise room type question for first timer

We probably wouldn’t have seen the glaciers at all if we didn’t have a verandah. My kids felt it was too cold on deck and wanted to stay in the room but occasionally peek out to see the glaciers. I stayed on the verandah the whole time and they would go inside and get warm, then come out for a few minutes, then repeat. Later in the cruise we all got very sick and were confined to our rooms for the last few days so the verandah was essential—if that happened in an inside room we would have been miserable but at least got to feel like we were still in Alaska and get some fresh air with a verandah. Based on both of those experiences I don’t think I’d ever book an inside room for alaska.

Can I ask about noise and motion on Deck 2? Is it better to book towards the back or the front? I want to try an ocean view room but didn't realize most of them are so low deck numbers on the ship.
I prefer midship. The portholes are slightly larger than the forward and aft rooms.

I liked being right next to the water line. It made for really lovely scenery.

Both of these photos were taken out our window.

We loved our ocean view on deck 2. Midship will give you the least motion. We were forward and did feel the rocking more there (we had one day of really rough sea on our Alaskan cruise) but it rocked me to sleep.

I would avoid being too far aft on the Wonder. There was a lot of vibration in the aft of the ship at certain times.

What hotels are good for a few nights before the cruise? We have never been to Seattle and would like to visit Space Needle. My main concern is staying in an area of the city.

Just as a clarification for DCL, hot cocoa is free. I believe the mulled wine and other alcoholic beverages are at a cost.
Good take.

On the TCM cruises it's usually free. Champaign too. I'm saying this is what the bartender told us any time we ordered. This may be certain days and dunno about other "Private, non Disney DCL theme cruises."

Booking thru AAA on any other DCL cruise we got a "free/comp'd" bottle of Champaign every night at dinner. Wife doesn't drink so I shared it with other tables. Still tip cash each bottle to the server.

I use the word Champaign loosely. Damfino what it was.
