Just curious if anyone has taken one of the Holland cruises to Alaska using points? Is it possible to use points to pay for one adult and use cash for another adult?? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

can't answer your question..been looking into this ourselves.

One thing I noticed...check out the ** beside the points. It is for I think the cat H stateroom. Just happened to have Holland America Alaska cruise info at home, and these are on the lowest ship level. Comments in our DVC manual indicate we can upgrade for more points. I wonder how much??

Call MS..they can answer your cash question. Not sure how that would be "linked" as cost is based upon 2 people in a cabin and you'd be reserving one space through Holland and the other through DVC..But, hey, anything is possible!!

Scootert,

We looked into this recently. Yes, you can pay for one adult with points and the other cash. I don't remember the dollar amount but it was pretty steep. We plan on going in May 2003. We decided it makes more sense to rent our points and use the cash for the cruise.

I know this years prices on a Holland America Alaska cruise booked through AAA are pretty good - for May - $600 inside cabin, $900 outside cabin, $1,200 for outside w/ verandah. This is the inside passage cruise sailing and returning through Vancouver.

I hope these prices are similar for next year. Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for the info Kelly -- you're right -- with prices like that we may opt to rent out the points and use cash. We're looking to go in July or August to get a break from the south TX summer. Hope you have a great trip
