ALASKA - August 30th, 2011 - Mickeys Mooseketeers & the last Alaskan Cruisade! New Th

That is so cool. Way to go. What was your article on? I guess I got to order the book.

They actually have used two now. One on the Disney Magic that keeps us coming back again and again and another about making the transition from being a Disney single to a Disney parent when going to WDW. The second actually came out of the first when I was writing and the story was getting too long, so I broke it up.

The entire PassPorter DCL book is out in PDF format now - I transferred mine to my iPhone & am also reading thru it on my computer.

Is it essential? Probably not, but I've been a fan of their WDW guides for years & years - the info is well-organized & researched.

I'm glad you all posted on here about it. :goodvibes I got the PDF version last night for my Kindle and it's nice to have all the tips right in the same place. Plus it's fun to read about DCL exclusively in the book. Another reason to love the Dis Board...all these suggestions!

Thank you for posting your links! What great articles...you have certainly had some Disney magic in your life! :wizard: This is why we come back to Disney again and again even though we are empty nesters now.

Are you an aeronautical engineer (rocket scientist?)? My DH is a Space Operations Officer in the Army. :goodvibes

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed them!

Not exactly, but I work with friends in pretty high places. ;)

Loved the articles! And so very true! I got pixied during DL 50th Anniversary when I was able to ride the FRONT of the monorail! Was so excited. Then we went to get ice cream and we were wondering why it took so long ~ they had upgraded mine into a mickey bowl with sprinkles and everything! It was huge. I felt so blessed that day.

Just finished my FE gifts!! WOO HOO!! want to get more supplies if we have anyone else join before the 1st Now I gotta work on the FE's for my parents to give out HAHAHAHA at least I started early this cruise!

Now if only I could get my hands on the DCL ALaska Vinylmation!!

It's my 8th Disney cruise.

Second one to get upgraded from an inside cabin. Probably more excited about the split bathroom than the porthole.

Very true about the split bath. I was hoping for an upgrade. We have a inside. I'm a little nervous about it. And my son is not too excited about the bunk. But we are so lucky to be going!!

Just cancelled high tea for two on the last sea day, Monday the 5th, in case someone wants it.

Wish I would have got it. Never been to one.

Thanks so much for sharing. Great articles!!

Hey everyone, I thought I posted last night, but I can't find it:rotfl2::rotfl2: We really enjoyed our visit to WDW, the best part was spending time with our friends. We had an awesome day at Discovery Cove and would do it again in a heartbeat with discounted tickets. Paying full price would be a tough decision.......

PJ, enjoyed your articles. Piikea, I always got tired of waiting to ride in the 1st monorail car---but those days will probably never happen again:sad2:

I am glad that some of our group got sprinkled by pixie dust:cool1::cool1::cool1: It is always a treat:)

I still have a few FE gifts to finish up for the girls and still have to pick up the men things. I'll have a few extras for the girls incase yours doesn't fit so don't be afraid to tell me you need to swap it out--seemed like they all varied in size as I was making them:rolleyes1

Bunks are not bad, we had one during our MED Cruise and the girls did not complain at all. That was also our only "upgrade" in our cruising history as well, the room was the same size only one deck higher, i had to call and get our original room back it was right where we wanted to be on the ship and upgrade was much further aft.

Really looking forward to getting on the ship, the temp is high 90's here with high humidity giving us 115 degree index :scared1:

Funny, my daughter grew up on that upper bunk. She is now 19, but still insists on our room host pulling the bunk down so she can sleep up there! Gives me more space in the room too!

Being a family of 3, we had never used the upper bunk, but on our Dream cruise the room host pulled it down and made it without asking which we prefer. Of course now DD loves it so we will be asking for this every time!

For those who have used the upper bunk on the classic ships, do they have the stars and constellations on the ceiling of the bunk like the Dream?

We used it on the Magic May 2010 and it was a ladder to the bunk. They did have its own little reading/bunk light which made it even nicer getting to bed late, the girls were always out later than DW and I. :tiptoe:

We've never used the bunks so I have no idea about the stickers.

Had a nice quiet Sunday. Adam came over and we went to Cracker Barrel to eat. My mom left for Cape Cod today to stay with my Nana for awhile. She's in the hospital (but doing a little better today). Hopefully she will be able to go into the rehab center before she goes back to my aunt's home. Nana turned 92 in May. So I'll be working from home most of the week, so I should be able to get the name tags most of the way finished this week. (It's hard to use my desktop computer when Mom is here working)

Picked up my men gifts yesterday. So one more thing crossed off my list:cool1:

By my count today I have 41 more sleeps until we leave for Seattle:)

Thanks! Sounds similar to the Dream, but was there a picture of the night sky and stars on the ceiling?

Pooh,

My last wonder cruise we used the bunk and it was not like the wonder. There were not any stars etc... That cruise was in October of 10 so they could have added them if they are a decal.

Thanks! I can't find a good photo of it, but on the Dream the ceiling from the pull-down bed was painted blue like the night sky and was filled with stars including constellations from Peter Pan.

That sounds cool, PJ.
