I'm with you both - am trying to find the balance between going overboard (I am NOT packing a separate suitcase just for FE gifts!) and seeming chintzy.

Love my girl gift but not thrilled with my guys gift. Guys are a bit harder I think. I'm going to think on it more.

I am doing a possible two drops on the cruise....and did NOT craft any of it (otherwise you all would probably think it was junk) not that the items I am sharing you wouldn't think that. I just am sharing stuff that I would want if I were to receive it (so I made me an FE of my own stuff).

I didn't think about the weather on the ferry to Haines so am looking at DCL excursions (there should be one that does something similar). So my Skagway plans may be a changin' (again ~ thank goodness we still have some time).

Very Cute FE Paula!

Well in August Mom said they got socked in once ~ they had to wait til the weather cleared. I read on another board from someone who lives in AK that if the weather is bad, they will cancel the ferry. I don't wanna do that on my own so i figure if i am with the cruise excursion and they cancel - we are all stuck But then if we cant make the ship before departure Disney will have to pay to get us to the next port instead of me paying to get me to the next port.

So I am re-thinking and re-researching this. i still wanna get out of Skagway for a while but have already done the train so don't wanna do that again which is why I was looking at Haines.

The excursion looks like it will still give me about 3-4 hours to walk around town so that is a good thing.

Very busy and hard few weeks. So welcome anyone I haven't meet. My family is great but extended going through difficult and hard times. So I have been helping a lot. And there has been so many responsiblities on our family that I have been overwhelmed. Miss you all and any news. So let me know if I need to hear anything. I did read 30 staterooms. So, I will get busy making more. Excited to have you join.

Good news my DS made Baseball All Stars and has already hit 2 homeruns!!!!

The scarves are really easy to make. WM sells the fleece in a yard and half package for about $10. You have to cut the selvage ends off and then each one is 9" wide. They also sell a package of multi colored buttons that was enough to make put 5 or 6 Mickey heads on each one. I put tape on them to get a straight line and then just cut narrow strips to make the fringe and then washed and dried them before I attached ribbon with the iron on fuse tape. The 1st one I did I wrapped the ribbon so it covered both side, but it made it really stiff--so the other 3 I just put the ribbon on one side. You can get 6 out of 1 peice of fabric. The hardest part was cutting them straight. WM also had a Princess, Cars and Toy Story package that would be cute for little ones--they really wouldn't need any extra decoration

While they were fun to make for my family, it overwhelmed me to try to handle all that cutting for everyone for the FEs, when you figure in it would be 3 or 4 per stateroom So you all may find it would make a fun project to do for your families. And I figured making them would ensure we would have 80 degree weather while we were in Alaska

Kimberly, I will print off the final FE and bring some extras with me. At the Dis meet the 1st day (3:15 Promenade) we can cover any changes then that have occurred at port. We'll know all the GTY's before we leave. I'll also have the name tags with our logo to give out at the meet

It sure would be nice for some to get some pixie dust upgrades. They have been showing just verandah rooms available for awhile now--only 4's & 5's, so maybe we are pretty close to being full? And I don't think they have released any specials for our cruise, unless I missed them. (not that I would have qualified for any of them anyways)

I used the regular logo picture that is on the roster page. Like I have said before when I ask it to make it fill the back with the design I get a warning about quality BUT they printed great!!!

Kimberly, that's great news about your son! What an accomplishment to be on an All-Star team. I do hope that your family circumstances work out well for all.

We got our package from Cafe Press yesterday, and they did a nice job. Even my husband, who is usually not interested and takes no part in planning, thought everything looked good. As soon as I figure out how to add photos, I'll post them.

I am so exhausted from a work project, and it's only going to be more stressful as the summer wears on. The timing of this cruise is perfect!
