Thanks Paula. I am gonna note it in my book.
I just found out on another thread that you can do ABD separate! I was originally looking at this but was told by a CM that everyone in the cabin had to be on it. And of course, M/D not being huge Disney fansweren't interested. Now I may have to rethink my plans
Oh My!
I am not packing a lot of really warm stuff. I have a wool hoodie vest that I am bringing, 1 turtle neck a few l/s tees & the hoodie with our logo, & some gloves. A couple pairs of jeans & capris. If by chance it is really cold, I'll just purchase something in port. Seems like Tracy Arm day has been the coldest for each cruise so far and I can tough it out for 1 dayI did purchase some fleece that I am going to try to make scarves for my travel party--hopefully I'll find some time to play with those--If not the receipt is with it in the bag and I'll just return the supplies
I keep figuring that it will get a degree or 2 warmer with each cruise![]()
I wonder if I'm going a bit overboard worrying about what to pack. We live in Hawaii and most of my things have been in storage for the last three years, so I had to buy a few things. Plus winter clothes take up so much space in the suitcase!! The last two Disney cruises we just drove to the port, so much easier! No worries on overpacking and such.![]()
Since we are in NJ, I think we have enough pieces of clothing for layering. I do want to get us each a good rain jacket that will allow for layers underneath. I plan to bring one pair of shoes for dinner and 2 pairs of sneakers. I am also willing to do laundry while onboard to keep packing to a minimum.
I just finished my purchases through Cafe Press. With our dis group cruise logo, I ordered and personalized 2 of the travel mugs and with just the logo I personalized 2 hooded sweatshirts. I was able to enlarge the picture for the back; I'm keeping my fingers crossed it prints well. I will attempt to post pictures when they arrive.
I finished our online check-in on Wednesday. I picked boarding time between 1 and 1:30 since we have our room until 2.
In fact it was colder in december 2010 at disney world in florida than in alaska august 2009! We had at least 5 layers on top and my sister actually wore 2 pairs of jeans one day there it was so cold (they had record temps).
I was just gonna use the rain gear we got at WDW in March (when it was pouring and hurricane conditions) that they sell for $7 bucks and just layer as I told MGibson301.
I would very much love to see what your sweatshirts look like. I bought some red t-shirts for us and am gonna press iron the logo on it. (I know, I'm cheap but M/D will never wear it after this trip and I couldn't see spending the money but wanted them to participate).
They will turn out great, I am sureWe have always had a few people in our cruise groups do their own shirts instead of ordering.
I am still waiting on them for their information to finish my online check in. Does anyone now if the boarding times close like the excursions do if they get too full?

Winter clothes are more bulky than summer ones. How long have you been in Hawaii? Which island do you live on?
Don't worry too much. I am planning on taking 3 pairs of jeans and 3 long sleeve t shirts and 3 short sleeve t-shirts (give or take). I may have 1 pair of shorts for hanging out in the cabin and 2 yoga type pants for the gym.
As for jackets - I have gone to Ross and Goodwill and Savers to check theirs out. I am gonna layer more - long underwear long sleeve shirt, long sleeve t shirt, short sleeve t shirt and sweatshirt so that I can take stuff off if it gets too warm. You might wanna make sure you have a hat to cover your ears from the wind and possibly gloves. I remember when we did the train and yukon it was very cold for us hawaiians.

We live on Oahu, DH is Army but we are living on Hickam AFB. He's a space operations officer. We have been lucky to live here for three years and are staying for one more.I have a Patagonia rain jacket and a thinner NF jacket that I may bring and layer under it. I'm a wimp. DH is totally not worried about it. We did a baltic cruise a few years ago and it was cool on that too. No hanging out on the deck at night like the Caribbean cruises.
Michelle, you & Piikea can have a mini meet before the cruise, she is in Oahu tooI've really enjoyed our vacations to Hawaii--going again in 2013
It must be so nice to call it home
How did you like the Baltic cruise? I have a friend that went and she said it was awesome!!
Make that 31 staterooms, we are bringing both our mom's along cabin #6638 some of you will have them as neighbors.
I don't know if they priced them that way to entice more members or if they really feel that a 2 bedroom is going to bring them $2500 a night
