ALASKA - August 30th, 2011 - Mickeys Mooseketeers & the last Alaskan Cruisade! New Th

Brenda, does it have a 90% rating---if so that is Pan Pacific
Sutton Place is 80%

PJ, I see you answered her 1st:)

You don't know what it is for sure until you book, but that is similar to what I saw when I got Pan Pacific. Make sure you only selected the area which includes Canada Place and then check the reviewer rating. It was 90% for Pan Pacific when I booked.

PS I used to live in Oxnard and miss CA very much!

Thank, PJ. That is what it says, so I am assuming that it is the Pan Pacific. We are debating whether to take an early flight and come in the day the ship sails, or come in the day before, which is what we normally do.

And by they way, I used to live in Alabama, Montgomery, to be exact. How funny is that?

Is the cost about what you all paid? $135 for a 5-star hotel seems like a pretty good deal to me.

It's a small world afterall! :)

It's a very good deal! We already had reservations at Pan Pacific and it was $249 with the AAA rate.

Indeed it is!!! I'll have to tell my DH about the hotel situation. As much as I would love to try to come in the day of the cruise, I get very leary about the possibility of something delaying us.

Although, being on the West coast, should take some of the stress out of being delayed. I mean, it is only about a 2 1/2 hour flight from LAX to Vancouver.

Thanks, Everyone, for all of your help and input.

I don't know if anyone else is planning on taking the Big Bus in Vancouver. There is a deal on Groupon--good through tomorrow for it. http://www.groupon.com/deals/big-bus-vancouver-2?c=dnb&p=1

It is for $15 for a 1 day ticket instead of $38. You can add a 2nd day for $5.

My parents haven't even started working out touring plans yet!:scared1:

I have done some looking and was gonna check this out...too bad no decisions are even close to being made ~ this woulda been a good deal.
I imagine they have these periodically (I am not on groupon)? So could possibly come up again?

:rotfl:
Okay, since I still havent nailed things down for my june reservations (have to do it soon the time is near:)) I may have changed my plans again for skagway:

instead of my street car tour I am now checking out taking the ferry to Haines....does anyone know how far a walk that would be from where we will possibly port? the ferry leaves at 8a and our docking is supposed to be at 7:15am or so....can we make it?

What do you all think?

I call my Mom the Groupon queen, she is always buying from them. :rotfl2:They do have some nice deals that come through. You should sign up to get them from Oahu:) I signed up a couple weeks ago to get the daily ones from Vancouver too. There's no charge to sign up:)

I didn't realize you could customize...gotta google it and check it out. THX

Tracy posted these links of the ports, they are great!

The ferry dock looks close:)

How did I miss this! Great, Great, Great! Thank you both for sharing.

Woo-hoo! We got the Pan Pacific Hotel Vancouver for $134/night! (plus tax) -- this was pretty much the same price as the Days Inn over on Kingsway!

We'll have to figure out something for breakfast - Lollipop's Mom mentioned the food court with a McDonald's & Tim Horton - but that's a small price to pay for the convenience & luxury! Will have to call the hotel directly tomorrow to let them know we'll be checking in late (Amtrak arrival 10:50p)

Glad you got the room!!!!!! I am sure we will see you in the food court around breakfast time:)

Should we have a DIS breakfast meet? ;)

Okay ~ since you all seem to have such great luck with hotwire and pan pacific I am going to see if I can convince my parents to consider this.

Awww~keep me posted on this cuz it will really depend on where we stay but this is such a neat idea!

That would be fun for breakfast:cool1:
If someone wants to pick a time and place, I'll add it to the roster page

Brenda, that may be workable too. I had one group that we met with several different evenings for martinis at the Cove Cafe. I know I want to sign up for a couple of the tastings they will be having---I need to search out the navigators again and make a note of the days they were on. I am open to all suggestions. There will always be conlits in scheduling but nice to have options:)

I think we were talking about a dis-meet for breakfast on the 30th since so many of us are at the Pan:):goodvibes

Oh, I see. We are still trying to decide if we are going to fly in the day of, or the day before.
