ALASKA - August 30th, 2011 - Mickeys Mooseketeers & the last Alaskan Cruisade! New Th

Oh, I see. We are still trying to decide if we are going to fly in the day of, or the day before.

A breakfast in the food court could just be the tipping point for your decision:lmao:

How about Tim Hortons (since I believe that is local to Canada and we should be supporting the local businesses:)) at 8:30 AM? I was thinking I want to be able to go back to the room, check out and be at the dock by 10:45? Is that too aggressive? How will we find eachother?

8:30 am and Tim Horton's sounds good to me:) That will get me up and moving. menu

I am not heading to the ship that early though. Going to try to sight see for a bit, probably make an alcohol stop and get to the ship around 1:30 or so. The only thing I need to get done on the ship are my tasting tickets. Then I can drop my carry ons to the rooms and grab lunch without lugging them around.

Hotel - well we are proabably not going to do the Pan/Hotwire route, although we still haven't finalized our plans for a hotel cuz we wanna get in on Friday 8/26 but that is depending on the flights and the costs.

Breakfast - sooo, we will also probably not be meeting you guys for breakfast
on the 30th as I am hoping they will want to do the LANDSEA Vancouver tour with port drop off. It is about 4 hours in the morning which should get us checking in about 12noon or thereabouts.

I don't mind doing a breakfast on ship ~ just as long as it isn't on my character breakfast day:banana:

8:30 might be a bit early for us, since we won't be getting to Vancouver til 10:50p the night before (according to the Amtrak schedule) - and since we've heard they're notorious for running late & I'm not sure how long it will take to get checked luggage & a taxi... we'll probably need to sleep in (if we can).

However, if 8:30 works out best for y'all, go ahead & we'll catch up onboard. I'm up for a breakfast meet onboard (w/ the same caveat as HiMagicFan - I'm not giving up my character breakfast! :lmao:)

Hotwire gave me the Sheraton Wall Centre. Staying 3 nights. $124/night.

8:30 may be a bit early for us too depending on how early DD wakes us up. ;)

Paula - what tasting tickets?

PJ, these are the ones I found in the navigators. I'd like to do both of the wines, one of the martini and the mojito one and they fill up.

Also if anyone wants to do the Tea with Wendy or Alice, you'll need to get them soon after you board (depends on how many kids are on the ship). Also if you want to do the Galley Tour. Be sure to head over to Guest Services and get them.

1st Sea Day
Stem to Stern Wine Tasting 1pm Cadillac Lounge
Beer Tasting 2:30pm Diversions
Martini Tasting 3pm Cadillac Lounge
Congac Tasting 10pm Cove Cafe

I didn't see any for Tracy Arm day, but I don't think I would want to do one then anyway.

Last Sea Day
Wine Tasting 1pm Cadillac Lounge
Martini Tasting 2:30 Cadillac Lounge
Beer Tasting 3pm Diversions
Mojito/Caipirinha Tasting 5pm Wave Bands

They have been $15 in the past, but may have gone up a bit. One of the wine days should be reds and the other white.

Art of Entertaining--these don't require a ticket you just go to Studio Sea. But the way Studio Sea is set up you'll want to get there about 15 minutes early so you aren't in the back.
1st Sea Day
10:15 Studio Sea---The appetizer. Herbed Seared Alaskan Halibut
Tracy Arm Day
10:15 Studio Sea--The Entree. Pan Seared Alaskan Salmon
Last Sea Day
10:15 Studio Sea--The Dessert. Strawberry, Rhubarb and Zinfadel Crepes

Thansk Paula!

We've never had issues getting tickets shortly before tastings on shorter cruises so didn't think they may be more popular on longer cruises. Definitely want to get DD her tea time. :)

Hotwire gave me the Sheraton Wall Centre. Staying 3 nights. $124/night.

What was the rating on the Wall Center? Stars and recommendations? One of my friends is looking for July.:)

How about meeting at 3:15 in the Promenade Lounge on the 30th to say hello? Without knowing our dining rotations, the character breakfasts will all be on the 3 sea days and they are in Parrot Cay so it will be hard to plan a breakfast on board.

We can plan a time for a meet on the 30th for breakfast and if it works, it works. Afterall we are all on vacation and have lots of things we want to do and it is impossible to fit everything in.:goodvibes

Paula, that sounds good to me.

When you get a minute, check out the roster and make sure everything is correct for you. If you want to participate in the FE (or have changed your mind) and I don't have you listed, please send me a pm and I'll update. Those of you on GTY, let me know when you get your stateroom assignment and I'll get it listed.

I am not a big fan of the lanyards, but I am going to try to work on a card to go in them with our logo and names. I'll give these out at our meet on the ship or drop them in your fish if you aren't able to come:)

What date do you all want the cut off to be for the Fish Extender? Would July 15th work or do you want it later like August 1st?

I didn't see any for Tracy Arm day, but I don't think I would want to do one then anyway.

Saw this in the Navigators posted for Tracy Arm day from the first cruise:

Wine Tasting 1 PM

Tequila & Margarita Tasting 3 PM (our choice and might mess up plans for High Tea if available)

Mojito/Caipiriniha Tasting 5 PM

Whiskey Tasting 10 PM

Not that I am participating or anything (might change our minds, though), I would recommend the Cut of date as August 1st. This is based on my previous expericence with organizing a FE exchange.

We had an earlier date, and without fail, folks who have been on the board and had known about the FE, decided after the cut-off date, that they wanted to participate. Some were very insistant about it.

Also, by the 1st of August anyone who had to cancel at the last minute will have canceled by then.

If you need help organizing the FE, please let me know and Iwould be happy to help you out.

Breakfast on the 30th for me will be out (just so you know who may/may not be there).

Meet on the 30th at 3:15 in the Promenade Lounge is great for me. I am trying to get M/D to start check in at 12n/1p and be on board by 1p/2p and hit lunch. Then I told them they could go to the cabin to chill until the Muster Drill so in all likelihood it will be just me (unless my DM surprises me).

I will probably be able to get you the room assignment sometime next week. Will let you know when I PM you.

That would be so cool! I had read somewhere that someone was doing business cards and I was gonna do one for my family for the lanyard (in case we lose them) but I would love one with our logo on it! THANKS:love:

I like August 1st...that way if I need to adjust my "supply" I will still have time to get my stuff and to figure out how to get it into the suitcase:rotfl:
