ALASKA - August 30th, 2011 - Mickeys Mooseketeers & the last Alaskan Cruisade! New Th

I'm a bit worried things will go the other way - they'll be sold out of the Alaska logo stuff - esp 2XL shirts (Scott's a big guy)

Any thoughts?

I'd make your purchases early. My Mom's DH was frustrated on the PC cruise becasue he couldn't get a shirt. But he's a big guy needs at least a 3X sometimes a 4 depending on the shirt. DCL carries very little bigger than a 2X. I haven't seen any pictures of what the merchandise looks like. I am still waiting on a 50% off code from www.zazzle.com to order the rest of our shirts with our logo on them.

Can you tell us on which days please? We won't be Gold until we step off the Dream next week so plan to make reservatiosn ASAP before silver booking opens on June 1.

High Tea currently is showing unavailable (it is 3pm on sea days including Tracy Arm)

I put brunch in for 2 people and this is what is showing:
Day 2---10:30, 11 and 11:30
Day 3---10:30, 11 and 11:30
Day 7---11:30

Dinner
Day 1---6:30, 7, 7:30,8,8:30
Day 2---same
Day 3---6:30, 7, 7:30, 8:30
Day 4---6:30,7,7:30,8, 8:30
Day 5---same
Day 6---same
Day 7---same

Hope that helps:)

We have always been able to add both the Palo dinner and brunch after boarding if I didn't book it online before hand because it was showing unavailable. Just head down to Beat Street around 3pm and sign up. I do know that they WILL NOT let you sign up for additional seatings until AFTER they have given everyone a chance to book during this time. They count the private room bookings too. We've done the private room several times and I really much prefer the smaller tables. It is really difficult to carry on conversations at the big table.

High Tea--only been to once and Marco very graciously made room for our party of 8 once we were on the ship. The problem with the tea is they don't use very many of the tables (I would say less than 1/2 of them) and it is only one seating at 3 pm.

I sent you a pm to get you added to the roster:)

Sounds fun!!

We have brunch at 10:30 on the last sea day:) Your excursions sound fun too!

There is usually a fish of the day and another meat selection. But their menu is the same.

Our time is 11:00!! All of the excursion sound really fun. There are just SO MANY to choose from. I just hope everyone has a great time.

Wow, I can't beleive that the only times left for High Tea is on the Tracy Arm day. I hope that means that we will have a better choice of tables since most folks will be out viewing the lovely scenery.

It was showing unavailable for all days. It was only offered the same as brunch days 2, 3 (Tracy Arm) and 7.

I was actually surprised to see it available at all when I logged in at 10 minutes after midnight.

Having never done a 7 day cruise before so never having access to high tea before, do they hold some reservations back for on-board bookings as well?

Yes, they hold a portion of all the Palo reservations for onboard bookings:)

I just spoke to a very hepful Cast Member at DCL with some of my excursion questions and he thew a monkey wrench into our Skagway planning (but it was nice to have the information).

There will be no White Pass Railway with Youth Activity offered on our cruise. He said there were only 3 cruises when it would not be offered and those were the first 2 and the last one. I am assuming this is because kids are in school and they don't expect a lot fo kids on board.

Now, we must find an excursion DD can do in Skagway.

I have done the train ride before and it is beautiful!! We will be taking my DS 4 who was too young for the kids activity anyway (go figure he would have loved it) I think she will like it! DS loved trains (Think Thomas and Chuggington)

I have no doubt our DD would enjoy it, but we were asking Grandma to be the adult supervision so we could do a separate excursion and the selling point was that she could have some adult time to enjoy the view without worrying about a wee one on the ride down. ;)

Now, we have to decide exactly when we want to leave and if necessary, book hotel. But first, the flight. YIKES!!!!

Good luck with the rest of your bookings. Quite a few of us were able to get the Pan Pacific on Hotwire:)

Those monkey wrenches do wreck havoc to our best laid plans. I guess that is the reason the 2 family 3 port excursions weren't available. I had to go back and look to see if they showed the youth activity as not avaiable, but it isn't even listed.

I'm concerned what else may not be available that may mess up our plans on booking day. :confused3

When you book excursions with Disney when do you pay for them? When you book? or are they added to your on board account and you pay for them when you cruise?

You pay for excursions on your onboard account. You do not pay them when you book them.

Ok, how does hot wire work? I am on that website now and see 1 hotel listed with a 5 star rating. How on Earth do you know what you are getting or if it's even close to where you want to be?

The listed right now is $135. Is that a good deal? I would imagine so for a 5-star hotel.

HELP!!!!

You don't know what it is for sure until you book, but that is similar to what I saw when I got Pan Pacific. Make sure you only selected the area which includes Canada Place and then check the reviewer rating. It was 90% for Pan Pacific when I booked.

PS I used to live in Oxnard and miss CA very much!
