ALASKA - August 30th, 2011 - Mickeys Mooseketeers & the last Alaskan Cruisade! New Th

Our ship looks beautiful this morning in port against the blue sky of Vancouver. Can't believe we will be on her in two weeks!

My FE gifts shipped yesterday and I should have them tomorrow. I am excited to see how they turned out. I hope everyone likes what I did and can use my gift. Can't wait to hear feedback!

PJ ~ will send my email out today.
I don't like DCL answers ~ they are cop outs. That is the one area where they lack their Disney service.:sad2: When we get on the ship will share my DCL response to a comment/questions I had. (too long for here)

Paula ~ I am just hoping not to get sick at all since there are 2WEEKS!!!:yay::yay: and I still have plenty to do! My magnets, finish my FE purchases and my shirts (our DIS and my pirates). Plus I am still looking for a reasonably priced suitcase:scared1: that I don't have to buy online ~ shoulda thought about it when you bought yours!

No umbrella for me (but the mini sounds like a good idea since all the cams have been showing dismal weather). I was just gonna bring my WDW poncho to throw over me ~ this way will cover the backpack and cameras too.

I have sorta packed. Sorta because I had my other case all done and ready to go (about a month ago:rotfl2:) but since it is over the 62" limit and I DON'T want to pay extra, hence my search for a new suitcase.

Been so busy lately. Anything new I need to know.

MagicalFan _ I am planning on going to Grouse Mountain the day of the cruise. We arrive late Monday. So only give us Tuesday to explore. So we will be getting to the boat around 3pm.

Our DD hasn't wanted to stay in the clubs by herself yet. She likes them but wants us to stay and play. I think it would help if she made a friend early on in the clubs or had a counselor buddy. We're luck if we get one Palo meal to ourselves. Luckily, we're traveling with extended family this time so they can help too.

My little one on the cruise we went on in 2009 loved it but also did not like being alone. I went to Palo one night and when I came to get her she was alone just walking around. She so loves her little girlfriends. Maybe we can get the girls to meet before and try to become new buddies. I am a little over protect of her and will not want to leave her there if I don't think she likes it. However, I know their program is very safe so would love it if she liked it. I too have Palo and a couple adult things planned.

Yeah, I was bummed:sad2: to read that you would miss our Dis Meeting at 315p ~ look for us anyhow when you get on board (and hoping that your check-in goes quick!);).

Your Mountain schedule is making me nervous for you but it looks like it will be a great time!:thumbsup2 Check out the other board cuz Lisa had a good suggestion about the tram and calling for a cab while on the hill which should help make sure things run smoothly for you.

Thanks to your doing the Mountain, we will be doing it when we get back from the cruise. So I am looking forward to comparing notes with you.

Well, we are starting to move forward with this trip. We finished our shirts. I think they came out really nice. DH did up a few magnets for our door. And I have dresses for both formal and semi-formal night.:cool1: Fortunately, I will be able to wear the same pair of shoes with both dresses.

I made of list of what I am going to bring. Just remembered the suit (for the Exotic Rasual spa treatment). I had intitially thought I would need one. Which also means flip-flops. Oh, well. I think that I will be able to pack everything I need in my carry-on and checked luggage. If not, the extras stay home.

PJ, I didn't like that reply from DCL, either. I think it is a total cop-out. I will have make my feelings known on the commit cards.

Hi everyone! I wish was was heading out on this cruise with you! I am hoping that someone that is going on this cruise will be able to help me out by purchasing a few Disney pins for me! I am looking for:

Well, I'm a little worried about my plans. I was so hoping to do the mountain. And I thought my plans looked good with a taxi there and back. Grouse said they would have a taxi waiting for me at 2pm. OUr hotel Marriott is close to the port and we would swing by. But now I'm getting worried. If I don't do it on Tuesday we will not see it. So got to think it our more.

I will try to come to some of the later meetings. If we go I will let you know how it is..

Also any news on the weather? Anyone know if its getting colder or what to expect.

Let's give it a try Kimberly! How old is your DD?

Would love to help but have been reading the pins are long gone. :(

Piikea, sorry you haven't found luggage yet, I hate luggage shopping. I used to always buy the 3 piece set online at disney. But they haven't had any for awhile only single pieces. I was a little disappointed that my piece I used for the July trip got scratched at the bottom.:sad2: I really wish all the baggage handlers took a little more care with stuff.

Kimberly, I was a little worried about you going to Grouse too, although it really sounds like a great time. Maybe time wise you could skip the lunch there and get your baggage to the port on the way there (Have you checked to see what is the earliest you can drop it at the port is? ) Have a bigger breakfast and just grab a burger when you get on the ship. I know you will figure it out.

Linda hope your package arrives today:goodvibes My last FE gift arrived a couple days ago and I picked up the last of the items I wanted for the little goodie bags I am giving to my family for the cruise.

PJ, Rebecca is 4 1/2. So they are pretty close in age :)

We are supposed to get together Sunday with my family to talk all about our cruise plans and have some pizza. The only thing I haven't done is book the hotel in Seattle for the 6th. I still have quite a bit of little things to take care of and put the finishing touches on. Hope everyone has a great day.:goodvibes

Becca will be almost 5 on the cruise. She tends to play up. How old is your little one?

I think if they have a buddy it would be great. Also, Even if I am hanging out in the kids club with my DD we could try to play with your daughter then too. But lets try to have them meet with their mommies by their side. If we are friends it might help.

I might be getting to the boat late or early. Depending on Grouse. I will be happy to PM you my Cell number for texting and trying to meet up.

Awww ~ sorry to hear that they scratched your luggage. The reason I need to buy a new one was because on my Panama cruise they (the handlers) busted one of the wheels! So I was lugging it at the end of the cruise to Disney and then Hyatt MCO then LAX then home! ugh. was not fun. So I totally agee with you about them being more careful with the stuff. Another reason I wrap my glass very carefully in all my jeans and t-shirts so they don't break!

Kimberly ~ don't give up on Grouse! Your plans sound great!

I agree with Paula ~ maybe skip lunch (bring a snacks) and leave that much sooner. Another great idea would be to check out in the morning and store your lugagge at Canada Place (they have lockers there) and then head to Grouse. Then you can cab straight to the ship after you are done and still see the mountain and do your plans. I think you should still go and will keep my fingers crossed for you!

Aspen is 5 1/2 so think this will work out perfect! We are staying at Pan Pacific so hope to board early and head to the pools if the weather is good.

Maybe we need to get them all together!

Latest response from DCL Merchandise Manager on the Wonder:

The Merchandise Manager said to let you know that the ship continues to
get shipments of product prior to each cruise. There will be Alaska
products for the final two voyages that are scheduled. The warehouse is
sending all items that are left in the warehouse.

Guess we better be sure to get to the stores EARLY!

There will be a line to get in I am sure:lmao::lmao:

Don't forget also that if you are gold, make your purchases in increments of $100. You can combine them from both stores--they will usually let you walk the merchandise across the hall to the other. That way you get your $25 stateromm credit :)

Hopefully, not everyone on board will figure out how limited thw merchandise might be until we've all had a chance to "brouse". ;)

We are SO looking forward to this perk! I'm sure it doesn't justify what we spent to sneak a Dream cruise in so we could be gold for Alaska, but it helped me rationalize. ;)

that would be yippee  (let's hope the cruise before us doesn't buy, buy, buy!

I have my list and will be scoping it out right after I try to fix my Palo ressies!
