ALASKA - August 30th, 2011 - Mickeys Mooseketeers & the last Alaskan Cruisade! New Th

Do you think that it would be cutting it close to make a 2pm flight to fly home from Seattle on the 6th

It would probably be easier to just fly in Monday the 29th and fly home the 7th.
I sure wish the flights into Vancouver weren't nearly double what it is into Seattle.

You should be okay but it will be close. We are still debating what we are doing...I know we are flying into Seattle because I have family there.

Des, that's what I was thinking that it may be close and I'd really rather not have to stress about making the flight. SWA's last flight out is at 2pm. I think some of the others may have later ones. If I knew I could keep myself to 1 suitcase and I would rather pack my coat than have to carry it. Decisions, decisions, decisions...........................but I sure would like to make some instead of all this debating I am doing with myself.

That's nice that you have family in the area. It will be fun for you all to see them.:)

I'm not at all creative but I have fun playing. Here is something I came up with for the possibility of the logo.

How Cute is thatt!!! That will make some nice looking shirts!

I am always ready to get home once they kick me off the ship so I know its tough to think about staying an extra night in a hotel. It should take about 3 hours to get from the Port in Vancouver to the Airport in Seattle if you don't upset anyone at the border, wear your Mickey ears to speed things up. The real question is how many people are going through at that time and is there any delay at Port with customs. Since we are in at 8 am you should have 5 hours to do all this, probably as close as you want to cut it, but if all goes well you can sit and enjoy a relaxing airport lunch. popcorn::

We would love to participate in the FE as well!
THanks so much for picking up this thread... it is my first cruise ever, but am willing to help do anything needed! :hippie:

Can you guys tell me what is FE? I might do it if I know more about it.:confused3

I like it. On my cruise that I just got home from on the 8th we all had T-shirts on the first day so we could spot each other before the meet and greet. Some did the logo with iron-on some ordered from Vista Pirnt. I think I will use the logo you guys come up with and order my groups t-shirts form Vista print and have them on the frist day.:thumbsup2

A FE is a fish extender. It is a pouch or bag of your choice that you hang on the fish that is outside your cabin door. The purpose of the fish is really for the ship to put notes or things there for your cabin but people hang these off of them.

Then if you participate in the FE - you agree to bring little gifts to the others with FE and they drop off little gifts for you...it can be anything from pens, candy, temp. tatoos...etc. It does not have to be expensive..just fun coming back to your cabin and finding little gifts.

Below are three pictures - on is our FE and one is the FE gifts we got on the PC cruise last month. The last one is the fish and you can see I have my hanger on it (I thought I had a picture with it but I have just the fish.

Thanks, it's the if all goes well part that bothers me..........We had a problem (which I'd like to think would/could never happen again leaving the terminal from the Panama Canal cruise). So I am really leaning towards the less stressful option of a night in a hotel after the cruise. If we were flying out of Vancouver I wouldn't even give it a thought.

For some reason it just didn't click with me that Seattle is at least 3 hours from the port.

Did you have aproblem with customs? We had a horrible incident and I am still upset over it. The customs agent basically told my daughter he was going ot have her strip searched and ignore her screams of pain as they searched her.

Horrible!

Horrible is right :sad2:

Hope that wasn't US or Canada, I have had nothing but good experiences crossing both directions. Sometimes I feel sorry for those guys, I have a school in the Northwest Angle I have to get to and if the ice road is not open the only roads are in Canada so I border cross occasionally, it's got to be a lonely job in the middle of the night.

No it was medical related, but what happened with Tori? That sounds really out of line. :scared1:

The customs agent asked me if I had cigarettes or alcohol..I said no..he then asked Tori, who at 14 thinks it's funny to be asked if she has either. She kind of smiled and said no.

He then said "Are you sure" "because I will have you stripped searched and ignore your screams of pain as they find out" Tori didn't know what he ment and just kind of smiled at him. She has been taught to be polite and thought he was teasing her. I was so shaken, I just just gave him a look like "WTH?"

He then asked why she had a different last night ..I advised him I was remarried and told him her passport was her legal name. He then snaps at me..I need your custody papers then. (I have only been asked for them when I was checking in NEVER when I was going through customs - Tori has been asked to confirm her birthday, legal last name etc but NEVER had to show the parpers) He snapped at me hat I should have had then ready. I gave them to him and he read the first 3 pages..not glanced...read. By now I was stressing out (Richard had already gone home to drop some luggage off as we were staying on the ship) He finally gave me everything and we left.

I did not get his name as I was practically in tears. I wish I had..I would like to have complained. There was a fellow Diser right after us who he was equally rude and scary to.

I will be watching for him when we come home next month - and avoid his line!

Wow Des! That sure wasn't the ending to the cruise you were expecting:sad1:

Tori didn't even realize what was going on, at 14 I could imagine Adam smiling at the customs officer and thinking it was really funny that he was getting asked about alcohol & tobacco. I can't imagine how she started feeling when she saw that you were getting upset. Man, I am so sorry that you all had to go through that. Customs in LA is so different than PC.

I have been on 21 cruises - almost all of them out of Los Angeles and this was the only time that I have actually been hassled before...it was incredible. Since my cruise next month is just Tori and I .. I will watch for a line with a female. Hopefully she won't say anything like that to Tori.

We will be on the Dream in about 9 weeks and plan on booking a Mexican Riviera while on board and have lots of questions about the LA Port, we have always sailed out of FLA ports before (and different European ports). The dates we are looking at would have us flying in the morning of the cruise and heading straight for the port. I was worried about LAX bag handling times and traffic between the airport and ship. :confused3

Hi all....so I guess I am coming on this cruise. However, I am on the 1st Alaska Cruise May 3rd with my daughter Jamie, but my parents thought that was just too early to visit Alaska........

So.....they won't go without me.........so for this cruise it will be:

Linda (this will be my 32nd Disney Cruise), my mom Nancy and my dad Larry. My mom has been on 3 Disney Cruises with me and my dad 2). We are in 6500 (handicapped room for my mom-going to get her a scooter as she can not walk far).

Then, my brother Ron and his wife Cheryl are coming and this will be their first cruise ever. They are in 6553 I think. I'll double check on that.

We will both be participating in the FE exchange.

Let me know if there is anything I need to do, but I probably won't focus too much on this cruise until after my vacation on the Wonder April 27-May 10!

If anyone wants me to find out anything specific at any of the ports, just let me know and I will be happy to check things out in May for you.

Looking forward to cruising with those I have cruised with before and meeting new friends!
