I just wanted to share with everyone that I have been researching my October 2009 Disneyland trip for the past few months and have learned that Alaska Airlines is one of the cheapest place to book your vacation through.

When booking my trip through Disneyland.com it was going to cost me $3,660. That's the hotel, airfare (using Alaska as my airline choice) and the tickets for five days. But through Alaska Airlines the exact same choices (airfair, paradise pier hotel and 5 day park hopper tickets) it was only $2,800. That's almost $1,000 in difference!! So if you're looking for a cheaper route check out Alaska Airlines for your Disneyland trip :rotfl:

Our last two trips to DL were on Alaska Airlines packages. They were the cheapest for us, too. I checked other airline packages, AAA, Costco, Disneyland.com, Getaway Today, etc, and at the time I was pricing them, Alaska was the cheapest and had all the particulars I was looking for. Both trips were great! :thumbsup2

I would still suggest that you will save between $300 and $600 per trip by booking seperately. Maybe even more, if you are able to take advantage of AP rates or pin rates as we sometimes see available. Just depends how much those lanyards and pins are worth to you:)

Absolutely.

Always check the prices doing things separately. We lost money on our first big trip in Sept '07 b/c I got sucked into the package idea even though we were absolutely planning to upgrade to APs, and the hotels had their terrific AP rates. Even if we hadn't planned another trip, just getting ONE AP and getting the fabulous rates at that time would have saved us money. No, we wouldn't have gotten to attend Mickey's ToonTown Morning Madness, and we woudln't have gotten the lanyards and pins, but we ended up buying "cute" lanyards (2 for each adult) anyway, so really we didn't need the included lanyards anyway.

Yeah I'm still watching all different ways to make sure it's the cheapest way possible. It seems too be the cheapest way so far. I'm not a pin collector or anything so that stuff is ok with me not getting :) I'm just taking my mom for her birthday.

Agreed, the AP hotel rates are hard to beat, if you go when the real savings are available. Yep, even if you buy one AP, you still get the rate. $139.00 a night for PPH, can't beat that. Have fun!

I'm going October 20th through the 24th. Is that a good rate time? lol Cause if so I might just go ahead with the AP to get the discounts plus then I'll only have to buy 3 park hopper for 4 days. We're gonna be staying at PPH.

It will be busy! There were lots of horror stories about how unbelievably packed it was all of October, especially the weekends. It looks like you will miss the CHOC walk on the 18th which is good, but you will hit major crowds for MToTP on both Friday and Saturday.

That's about the time frame we went a couple years ago, and it was very busy. Manageable with fast passes and all of that, but there were a lot of people. Mid-week will be better.

Yeah I usually go the first week of October and it's not too bad but since my moms birthday is the 23rd we're gonna go then instead.

Those days (weekdays) should be fine ~ much better than early Oct. Gay Days should be the 1st weekend of the month along with UT schools fall break (UEA ~ 10/1 & 10/2) AZ schools should have a break during Oct. but I'm not sure when it is. Columbus Day is Mon 10/12. I'm thinking of going that week too ~ but we'd avoid weekends.

Yeah luckily we'll only be there Friday since we fly out Saturday :) We'll be there during the week for the not as busy days. I wish it was tomorrow!! I'm so excited hahaha. I go every year yet I always get just as excited as if it was my first trip.
