We just booked a RT ticket from Portland, OR (PDX) to John Wayne airport (SNA) for $158. Our dates are in Nov. but they have a sale on now. Usual fare for this route is $200 and up.

Ooh, this is tempting! I will have to go check it out! We usually fly JetBlue into LGB and the most recent "sale" prices were $180 pp.

Thanks for the tip!

Ahh. Okay, it's $158 before taxes? Comes out to the same price as flying with JB for us, and I would much rather fly them (love the free Directv!) than take my chances with Alaska. :thumbsup2

Alaska also flies out of Bellingham WA to SNA (stopover in Seatle) and right now most flights, especially a month or two out or more, are $156 RT. I've always had good luck and good trips flying with Alaska, so I don't see it as taking any chances. Just my opinion.

We've never had any issues with Alaska Airlines either. I've never flown Jet Blue, but hear bad things about their on time status.

What are your dates splash? We are going 11/7-11/13! That is less than what I paid....going over to check it out! Thanks! :thumbsup2

Thanks for posting this! I just bought a ticket for my brother from Seattle to SNA, and it dropped $46. I was able to get an instant credit voucher for the difference. Nice!

LOVE LOVE LOVE JetBlue! :thumbsup2 I can honestly say that we have never flown Alaska, and we fly a lot which is strange living in Portland and never flying them... I would just rather get miles with a company that we know so well, than take a chance with a new one (and start over on miles).

Good to hear that you guys love them! We may have to fly Alaska one day if we are not going to DL to check them out :goodvibes

On a side note, Portland seems to be the hot spot for AMAZING deals to Hawaii! $287 r/t with tax??? Yes please! :yay:

Avoid SWA if you have a family. It's best to get confirmed seats vs. sit where ever

This is the cheapest fare I've ever seen to the LA area - $158 RT plus tax. The cheapest before was 189 plus tax. Now if we could just get Virgin America to fly out of Portland, life would be sweet. That is my favorite airline - but we have to drive to Seattle to fly with them.

Thanks for letting us know about the good fares on Alaska!

Our family also loves Virgin America, too. We just bought tickets with Alaska, however, because VA was almost $40/ticket more than Alaska plus we can fly into SNA vs LAX. The good news is that we have our tickets! :thumbsup2 The bad news is that I have to tell my DD (11) that it is NOT on her favorite airline.:scared1:

We are going early in October to enjoy Halloween at Disneyland. :dance3: We love this time of year ... but then we also love anytime of year when we can go to Disneyland. :thumbsup2
