Just tried to book a car through them for May5th-15th and they said they are completely booked(no cars). I am freaking out a bit, in the 20 plus years I have been travelling and renting cars this has never happened!!!! Do you think it will change? Is it going to be crazy busy in Disney while we are there??? What is going on???

Which location are you looking at using? I just tried a booking for the same dates at the airport (MCO) and was able to get my pick of cars :confused3

Unfortunately though the weekly rate is extremely high :scared1:

Hmm. Same here. I punched in your dates and was able to find a car through MCO. Rates are crazy high, but I was able to pull some up.

you know I tried again after I typed this just to be sure and got rates with different codes. I am wondering if the codes I had were invalid and that was the way Alamo was saying I couldn't use them?? Very strange. I hope it was just a fluke. Thanks for checking for me.

Some codes have blackout dates. Some codes are subject to capacity limits. Alamo might have already reserved as many cars for that code as they're willing to reserve for your dates.

Also possible the code you entered has expired.

there are a whole bunch of codes on mousesavers for a bunch of different rental companies. Not all of them work. Just try all of them until something works for you. It took me a while, but persistence paid off.

Expired or blacked out Contract ID's may show as sold out even though the location is not necessarily sold out. Expired coupons will give a nice coupon expired message in red text but allow the reservation to proceed.

OP....might I ask if you were trying that "1" code that was the hot topic this weekend. No matter what dates or where you try and rent from it shows SOLD OUT using that code. I tried MCO various dates. LAX various dates, IND various dates, and even Moline Illinois. Appears that Alamo got onto that code and the 'glitch has been fixed'. I'd be worried if I had a reservation with that. I am not saying or implying at all that this is the code you used or tried, but when I tried that code at various places it showed SOLD OUT and then went back and had no code there were cars.

Like others said try mousesavers or try BJ's club or Costco if you hold those memberships.

GOOD LUCK!

I've had that happen before when trying to use "questionable" codes, try again with another code :thumbsup2

it was a questionable code! I did try the "1" code. I have a few codes that did work after I tried that code. thanks everyone.

I think that alamo pulled the plug on that code. I tried to make another reservation with it and it came up "sold out" rather far in advance.

Has anyone tried to pick up a car using the Alamo 1 code yet? I was just wondering if they were able to. I have a car reserved at the Swan/Dolphin using that code - but I also have a car reserved on Hotel Plaza Blvd with Dollar - So if I can't get the car at the Swan - I am planning on going with Dollar.

I'd like to hear if it actually works from someone too! I just checked my reservation and it still looks like it is being honored. I am really hesitant about it though. I too have another booked. I am actually hoping that as I get closer some last minute deals will come out and I won't even need to try this one!

I picked up a minivan today at Clearwater airport using code 1 with no problems at all. Total rate $220.00 for the week. I had called Alamo a few days ago and all they told me was that it was a tourism promotional code but lasted less than a week because they only allocated X number of rentals under the code. No ID of any kind required and that is what I was told over the phone.

Dollar has these dates for a mid size car on special. It can only be seen using NO codes.

CITY SPECIAL: Check for special rates on your dates in Orlando, Florida $165.02 weeekly rate
Lock and go cheaper by a few dollars.

Were you able to use the kiosk or did you have to stand in line at the desk? I would love to be able to use the reservation I have with this code but I'm still nervous!

Awesome! Thanks for posting. I was lucky enough to reserve a car for summer using the code before it sold out and got a great rate!

I was planning on using the Kiosk but I actually didn't see any at St. Petersburgh Clearwater airport. There was only 1 person in front of me at the Alamo and National counter so I just took care of it at the counter and was done in less than 5 minutes.

Thanks for the heads up on the Alamo code, I hope my code 1 reservation works like yours.
Did you use your Alamo Insider membership card at the counter for an additional Driver or anything else?

Thanks, Good Luck All,
Joe
