Alamo Web Site Uncooperative

I was trying to do some comparison shoping at alamo.com, but...

Every code and coupon I tried, including an Entertainment coupon, AP discount, etc., gave higher prices than no discounts at all!

No problem. I wasn't serious about renting from Alamo anyway. But now I'll be sure not to bother with them again.

While it may be higher, realize without an AP code you do not get an extra driver at no additional charge. I used BJ's code with the free day coupon and for eight days, full size car, free additional driver the total was 196.90.

With the annual pass (free additional driver) code 221.87

with no code 216.05, BUT, when you add in an additional driver it jumps to 262.82.

Sam's club and coupon gives a similar result to BJ's with a free additonal driver also.

In an event, it is still less than I have found anywhere for my time frame, EXCEPT for the National one I made in April with an AARP code and BJ's 20.00 off coupon. I kept the National and cancelled Alamo.

Strange, but thanks for the info!

I also found a better deal at National, but it's still $277 for 9-day full size. Since it begins the Friday after Thanksgiving, I'm not expecting miracles, but the last two years I've payed $143 and $163 for 8 days.

Fuuny thing, so far Alamo is the cheapest I found. 8 days, all taxes etc., $229
