Alamo Walmart Code no Longer on Mousesavers

This was mentioned in this thread but thought it warranted a new thread. Does anyone know why the Alamo Walmart code is no longer available on Mousesavers?

It was asked to be removed was what a thread a few weeks back said.

It still works, I used the Alamo Walmart code last week with no issues.

It's no longer a current discount promotion (code) but hasn't yet been taken out of their database.

Years ago the code was in the WalMart edition of the RandMcNally road atlas. The codes hasn't been seen in WalMart for years.

Thanks, I should have searched first. A simple search turned up this thread.

I still had the link to where this was on the Walmart website in my favorites. It appears that the link no longer works. Seems that this is now a taboo code.

I was going to use it at the Dolphin, but if it turns out to be a problem at checkin, I just won't rent the car. I wanted a compact for the week for the luxury of having a car if we needed it, but it's not as if I really need to have one.

Yes, one of them does. There are actually two codes, both start with a 4 but one ends in a 0 and the other ends in an 8.

We have one reservation booked for November using it. Will probably just change it to the Entertainment code and lose the additional driver option.

if you have a previously booked, confirmed reservation using a 'then' valid code (walmart or otherwise), can't see why it wouldn't be honored.

anybody know if the SAMs club (since WM affiliation) codes are also kaput?

COSTCO code also has a free driver. Rates were similar to the Wal Mart code. Alamo (PHX) not only asked to see my COSTCO card but swiped it in order to capture my membership number.

The problem is the code wasn't really valid for years. The code hasn't been in the stores or in a public part of their website for at least 5 years. A poster in this thread found the "orphaned" page and added it to his favorites.

That said Alamo had no business making a reservation using a code that expired.

I actually reposted the link that I had obtained from another poster here. So I wasn't the one that located the orphaned Walmart page that had the code.

The code was good while it lasted. While the code still works, it provides rates that are no longer favorable. So we will discontinue it's use. We actually used the code for a reservation earlier this month without a problem at the kiosk.
