If anyone has an Alamo reservation for January or February you should check Alamo for lower rates. The base rate for a midsize during that timeframe is $75.89/week right now (12/17/2007) which is the cheapest I've seen since I've been watching them.

Thank you! Just checked my rates for January and I'm down to $64 including everything for a compact 1/20-1/27! :cool1:

I wish I knew what was going on the last week of February. An economy, with taxes, is $644!!

The best I could do for Feb 27 - Mar 9 was $288 for 11 days. It has already come down a little($20), but still checking daily. I'm using the Costco ID and a free day coupon also through Costco.

I'vejust switched my reservation to National..for $4 more I can completely bypass the counter and go straight to the car (Emerald Aisle)..I'm at $69 for at least a midsize (could get an SUV or Minivan, depending what's there)

I just checked Alamo for 2/24 - 3/1 and an economy is $171.63 including everything and that's just using the Walmart code (430710).

Must be something weird with mine. I'm coming in on Saturday (2/23), and the rates are sky high. If I change it to the 24th, they drop by hundreds of dollars. Strange.

Would it be because that's the end of "President's Week"? Just a thought. Maybe there are a lot of people renting 2/17 - 2/23?

HOW???

I keep checking National (1/2-1/7) and it's nearly $200 for a midsize.

I'm at $65 with Alamo.

Yes, I got my rate down at ALamo for a COMPACT car to $56 (all fees inclusive) for Jan 10 - 17th! Can you imagine? Pretty soon maybe they will be paying ME to take the car!

Made my day!

Izzy, I'm doing the same thing - coming in on 2/23 and out on 3/1. The car rates are high because of that Saturday. Right now the cheapest I have is through Thrifty with the Orlando Magicard - $171 total for a compact. The National and Alamo rates have come down quite a bit over the past few months for those dates though.

They went back up for me! I checked my dates a couple hours ago and it was still $70.92 for 1/6-1/13, and now it's almost $180! Thankfully I locked in that low price!

I just checked the rates for us. Feb 17-26 we already have a rate of $361.16 (through Dollar) for a minivan. Same dates same minivan right now at Alamo over$1000.00  Sure glad I found a deal before now. It's easier to get good deals very early about a year before the trip or you can hit good deals later if it doen's matter the size car. We will be 6 people so we need a inivan. Good Luck.

The rate I booked on 11/6/07 for 2/29/08 pickup is still a little lower.
7013463, AD28 Alamo, midsize SUV, 7 day rental, $174.76 total....

Looking for a good deal for Feb. 7th-14th, Pickup at Ft Lauderdale airport, drop off at MCO
Any help???

I just now rebooked my full-size 10 day rental with Alamo using the Walmart code and the $25 coupon they sent me via email. It went from $148.86 to $133.27! The dates are 1/11 - 1/21. It just keeps getting cheaper. It's now down almost a $100 from where I started. Good luck!

I booked Alamo from 1/13-1/17 for $64, total.

Not a bad deal! Combined a standard discount code with the $25 off coupon.

Wasn't going to get a rental, but for that price...why not.

I'm a *********** member, so perhaps that will help...
