Alamo questions....

I used Sunny15 as the ID code and AD3829MRB and got 15 % of plus $25 for a full size car for 14 days for $230.00.

Are these both Quick Silver codes you are using at Alamo?? Hate to be dumb but this just dropped my December reservation considerably and do not want to use them unless I know for sure where they came from..thanks

I also just tried this for my reservation in Nov. and my price dropped by $10.00. Hey, $10.00 is $10.00 right! I would also like to know the answer to the SUNNYID code before I cancel my other reservation and book this one. :)

One thing about this SUNNYID code that I found. With my original reservation I have a "FREE" additional driver which I will want because my DH will be driving some of the time but i noticed that when I checked with the SUNNYID, it does not say "FREE" additional driver so I'm assuming that i would have to pay for that and according to my actual reservation that I made several days ago with the code that was posted on the post of this thread, my reservation says $9.95/day but my charge was $0.00. The 1st post code was for a free additional driver! This makes a big difference to me, but it may not for some.

It is on Mousesavers and on the Alamo Canadian Website (which I went and checked out and it is). The coupon is an E coupon and I cannot even find any place it is listed, but people say you do not need it when you go get there. I wish I could find where it is even listed so I can read it and maybe print it to have with me if any confusion happens.

Have you checked with the codes that were listed on the very 1st post of this forum? That will give you $25.00 of a weekly rental and an additional drive free of charge. When I made my reservation using those codes it didn't say anything about needing to present a coupon upon arrival. It might be worth checking out!

I'm not understanding the worry about a free additional driver, unless you are using their insurance. Our insurance covers both of us no matter what we are driving, why is it any different with a rental car?

I just returned from WDW for a trip on 9/20-9/25 in which I reserved a midsize car for $78. When we went to the parking garage to pick out our car, well there wasn 't any cars only SUV's parked in the midsize area. A parking attendant from Alamo told me to pick out a SUV, so basically I got an upgrade and I still paid only $78 and I got a brand new Chevy Equinox. I almost changed my reservation 3 days before my trip to the midsize SUV which would of cost $140, boy am I glad I didn't!!!

As I have stated earlier in my Alamo posts, I'm new to car renting and when I saw the code for $25.00 off and free additional driver I jumped on it because I knew that DH would be driving some. No worries and especially not since you've educated me on the insurance coverage!

You bring up a very interesting observation. Why do we always worry about the free driver? I never take their insurance, so my DH would be covered for insurance purposes. I know Alamo will charge for an additional driver unless you use certain codes or are a member of QS (spouse, etc.), so possibly you would be in violation of their contract terms and they could raise your rate based on that. :confused3
